Rag-rolling is one of the most dramatic of the broken color effects. It's related to stippling, dragging and, of course, ragging in that the relief patterning - which can look unnervingly like crushed silk or velvet - comes from partially lifting the wet glaze off the ground, but in this instance it's done by rolling a sausage of bunched-up rag over the wet glaze.
