Januarys were slow for most if not all floral shops. This was the time for them to order, plan, and just generally get organized for Valentine’s Day. Nikki was putting the finishing touches on the large Valentine’s display at the front of the store. The end of January is usually when the preorders begin coming in. She was adding flowers to the large block “L-O-V-E” letters that stood in the window in front of the shop. The display was full of traditional Valentine's items like roses, teddy bears, and boxes of candy. She was so focused that she missed the person coming in, but she heard the bell over the door go off. “Give me just a second and I’ll be right with you.” She called out over her shoulder. Nikki had a hot glue gun in one hand and the other was holding the rose to the “E” to make sure it stuck. She let go after a few seconds and carefully placed the glue gun down before turning to face the customer with a smile on her face. “Hi. Welcome to Flor Amor. What can I help you with today?”

If there was one place Noah tried to avoid at all costs it was Flor Amour. It was nothing personally against the store nor the stunning Italian lady who owned it nor the ever so lovely sales assistants but it all fell down to his allergies and nose which couldn’t control itself from the array of scents and aromas the store exhumed on the daily.

But he was on a mission and it was the first stage in his plan to get a certain temperamental brunette back so with a grimace he walked into the store, a tinkling bell announcing his arrival and he tried to hold his breath for as long as possible. He couldn’t remember the last time he had actually brought flowers and the displays in front of him was daunting. 

“Fucking hell...” he muttered to himself, wrinkling his nose as he held his breath once more.

Gunner picked his drink up from the bar, taking a sip as he cast his eyes to the countertop. It had been a long day, sometimes he needed a drink, in fact, most days he needed a drink. The man hated being alone, but he also hated being around loads of people, so travelling to a bar to sit on his own seemed like the only option. Though, it did often end up with him picking a fight with whomever he thought deserved it that night. 

There was a clink as Gunner placed his empty glass down on the counter, raising his head again and feeling eyes set upon him. “Have you got a problem or can you not find anything else to look at?” he commented, turning his head as he finished his question.

It was early yet -- the small of freshly brewed coffee could be smelt throughout every inch of the department. Nathaniel had been there since before the midnight shift had gone home. It wasn’t just an early start that had brought him into the office, but the frustration that both organizations were still running so fluidly. 

So, he had called a departmental meeting to hash things out. Ideas. Ins. Secrets that people knew could benefit them. Somebody somehow had to know a way to cut off the head. 

“Grab yourself a cup a coffee and take a seat.” 

“You’re welcome to join me, there’s plenty of space here.” she called out towards the person seemingly looking for a place to sit within the packed bar. Ilaria was waiting for some other friends to join her but she most certainly wouldn’t toss them aside when they did arrive. “Good day?”
