Charlie Ringer
Charlie Ringer is a young, single father of Lizzi Ringer. Angela, Lizzi’s mother, left Lizzi with Charlie and his parents just after freshman year of college to pursue a career in entertainment in Del Sol Valley. He undertook full responsibilities for Lizzi; he dropped out of community college, got a job in carpentry, and devoted his own youth to raising a rebellious, adorable daughter. Through Lizzi’s early childhood, he had the support of his parents. He eventually switched careers to his true passion of becoming a chef. When an opportunity to take a prestigious position in a kitchen was offered to Charlie, he moved with Lizzi to Copperdale. It was a closer commute to the local city than his original hometown of Brindleton Bay.
Charlie is a true romantic at heart with family values high on his priority list. He has devoted so much time and care to Lizzi to make sure she knows she is wanted and cared for. He hopes to one day grow his family, but he doesn’t feel the need to rush into a romantic relationship with just anyone. They, too, will also have to love Lizzi just as much as he does. So when those pesky feelings of loneliness creep in, he takes comfort in spending time with his daughter, playing the guitar or experimenting with new recipes. He shares his hobbies with Lizzi, and he takes pride in the fact that she has taken on many of his own characteristics and hobbies. Charlie occasionally grumbles to his mother over the phone, “she can play the guitar better than me now.”
Though now that Lizzi is becoming an independent teenager with aspirations of her own, Charlie is finding that he has more free time. Sometimes he wishes his little girl would never grow up, but sometimes he can’t wait to see what a clever, creative woman she will become.
