I saw it! I was also surprised but in retrospect, I shouldn't have been, tbh. It's a "read for school" kind of novel about Giovanni Falcone, an Italian magistrate who was killed by the mafia in a terror attack in 1992. He's a very influential figure in recent Italian history and a very inspiring story; the book itself targets young readers but it's definitely readable for adults. I actually asked my mum about it (she's an Italian lit middle school teacher and she's very keen on civic education in the classroom) and she says she loves it and ofc she made multiple classes of students read it.

Some thoughts

It's a bit of a random choice but not the kind of Critically Acclaimed Novel you bring up to look sophisticated. You wouldn't make up something like that

It's definitely a Book That Means Something though, which I think says something about what he spends his time reading (or what he thinks makes a good answer)

It hasn't been translated into other languages so he'd have read it in Italian

If you asked me to make up a whole spectrum of book taste from this book I'd say: middle-grade but adults enjoy it a lot. There's an AU Charles who loved Serge Bussolo's Peggy Sue books as a teen instead of Harry Potter

I saw the quote I was surprised for 4 seconds then I remembered he loves Where's The Love because it was his dad's favourite song and I went "You know what. It tracks"

uhhh pictures and whatnot here but basically damiano went to Monza 23, then Charles went to a yacht thing in Monaco and maneskin did a set and I guess Charles let damiano put his helmet on, then damiano got a tattoo a while after of a horse and tagged Ferrari in it. or something

the first thing that came to my mind is sadly a moment which I can't link because I can't remember when it was exactly and couldn't find back the video: it was Carlos and Charles having fun for a ferrari video challenge and they were talking about each other's skills and Carlos said smth like I'm better than you at sports and Charles answered 'not a driving" (or smth like that) and it was soooooo cunty (and true)

another cunty moment is ofc the 'honour' tweet he liked after the whole mess with carlos' mom insulting him on social media

idk if it counts exactly but there's also that time when he was asked what song he would listen to if he could have music in his car and he said 'highway to hell' T-T (in 2025)

not bitchy or messy but definitely cunty and hot as hell: back in australia 2022 and baku 2023 where he said he wouldn't go for best laps but ended up doing it anyway because he's a menace <333
