ARYA JHAVERI

(she/her) A denizen of Thavnair's jungles, where her tribe came to settle years prior to distance themselves from the Empire. She grew to assume the status of vice captain of the town guard, deftly wielding an alchemically-imbued spear - her efforts to protect the people during the Final Days earning her recognition. Arya acts as a more rational counterbalance to her fiery twin Anisha, who she cares for deeply.

EJI [of the] TORGUD (blog/carrd)

(she/her)  A passionate Xaela from a line of astromancers in her tribe; a dream of falling stars allowed her leave from her lifelong home of the Nhaama Desert. She often makes ends meet through performing, fortune telling and offering jewelry as cherished by her people. Eji is an amiable, charming individual whose ways may be considered eclectic and... somewhat flustering to outsiders, and she knows it.

HINAKO DAIGO (blog/carrd)

(she/her) A Raen priestess who had served as the young master of her shrine (kannushi), she is well versed and at home with the esoteric and otherworldly. After she and her countrymen were forced to flee their Yanxian village and the Empire, she has since traveled far and wide to carry on the spirit of her work - at odds with man and monster alike. Hinako is known to be consistently genial with a warm aura.

MISUZU KURENAI

(they/he/she) While held captive by trafficking brigands, it is said he had awoken a new power within him after coming in contact with the crystallized head of an oni. It had been owned by none other than the Daigo clan of Hingashi, who rescued, subsequently took in and raised the young Miqo’te. Kurenai has grown to be a distinguished member and an adept fighter; He tends to live life one step at a time when not directly representing the clan in Kugane.

RHOYA SONATA

(she/her) A mixed-clan Miqo’te was once but a street rat in Ul’dah who attempted to steal from a foreign scholar. The scholar offered a way out and adopted her, taking her back to Old Sharlayan. There she got an education and took the reins on her life, becoming an archaeologist and explorer with a keen eye for ruins, inspired by early wanderings in the Sil’dihn subterrane. She is also a big fan of contemporary fashion trends.

TAMAMO GOZEN (Mikuzume)

(she/her) A NPC character: The legendary fox Tamamo Gozen is part of great many a tale in Yanxian folklore, among them the story of their bond with the king Shoen. Her devotion to Doma’s people thenceforth came to a head in her act of defiance against the Empire; For better or worse, “Mikuzume” was reborn that day, bereft of many a memory. After crisis was averted following a more recent altercation with onmyoji, the woman has been trying to find new meaning in life.

Celia ( kir / bas ) Benes, (Age: 21)

The youngest child. Formerly a medicus, serving both under her aunt Caelia in the XIXth and in a legion stationed in lower Ilsabard, Celia deserted the Imperial army en route to her new position in the XIIth. Though she’s recently undergone surgery to remove an abnormality in her vocal chords, Celia still mainly uses sign language, or supports her speech with it. Seeing firsthand the suffering the empire has brought to the people she’s been forced to interact with, Celia has long since given up hope of reforming the empire from within and has resolved to restore the power back to the people. 

Caius ( rem / bas ) Benes (Age: 27)

The younger twin and youngest son. Celia’s childhood nightmare, bullying her and taking every opportunity to make her feel lesser. Bundle of numerous issues. Caius is a warning in and of himself. Manipulated by the people around him and determined to fill the void his brother left behind, Caius did... numerous horrific things under the command of his superior officer and then-lover Oenone. When his aunt Caelia retired from her post as Legatus of the XIXth and he outlived his usefulness, Caius was given an honorable discharge from the imperial army. He came to Eorzea fully intending to murder one or both of his sisters, only to instead find love and acceptance in the form of his now-girlfriend Audrey and the knowledge that what he thought was a recurring hallucination was, in fact, the lingering spirit of his beloved older brother Cato. He and Celia have since managed a shaky reconciliation, and now that he’s away from the burden of the family legacy, Caius (with Audrey’s help and support) is finally beginning to figure out who he wants to be, rather than who people want him to be.

Solina ( bas ) Benes, (Age: 27)

The oldest Benes girl. Caius’ twin (older than him by 20 minutes, not that she’d ever let him forget it). Bored with politics, frustrated by her grandmother’s machinations, refusing to be yet another cog in the war machine, and with a portion of a secret her mother and father had kept from their children, Solina ran away from home as a young teen. Since then, she’s roamed the world, seeking adventure and satisfying her wanderlust whenever she feels like it. She hates her twin and everything he stands for, and she hates her parents, aunt, and grandparents only slightly less. She and Celia briefly reunited in Kugane, where Solina turned over the deed to her apartment so she could continue her adventure. These days, you’ll find her either drunk or in the middle of a brawl somewhere in Hingashi.

Cato rem Benes (Age: 19 at time of death, would be 32 now if alive)

The eldest son, the favorite... unfortunately deceased. Cato and the rest of his cohort were killed during an ambush in Nagxia. His death was The Straw That Broke The Camel’s Back in House Benes, sending his siblings and parents into disarray and forever altering their lives. Cato isn’t quite sure what happened to place him and the members of his cohort in these ghostly circumstances, but since becoming aware of himself once more, he’s watched over his beloved younger brother Caius, trying to no avail to keep him out of trouble and offer brotherly advice. Part of Cato wonders if he might once again live and breathe, but for now, he’s content to watch over his family from his pseudo-afterlife.

Caelia ( van / bas ) Ursus (Age: 50s. Looks damn good for her age.)

“The Dread Aunt.” The Benes children’s paternal aunt, their father’s beloved older sister. Retired Legatus. Caelia worked hard and served her empire honorably, but when she began asking questions about the strange circumstances surrounding the ‘death’ of her former Tribunis, Caelia was faced with a decision: step down with her honor intact, or face having her family name tarnished and dragged through the mud. She chose the former, but has certainly not given up her search for the truth and answers to her many questions. This has led her to a member of the Senate with similar goal in mind. But what they’re finding might be more than even the Mother Bear of the XIXth can fathom.

Lucius ( mal ) Benes, (Age: 50s)

The father. Resident ice man. Publicly unaffiliated with neither the Populares nor the Optimates, and would prefer to keep it that way. In secret, however, he is wholly supportive of his wife’s endeavors. To the uninformed onlooker, Lucius may seem cold and unfeeling to his loved ones, but those who dare to observe and find out more may come to realize just how deeply he cares about his sister, wife, and children.Currently, Lucius focuses on his research for the most part, seeking to create and improve magitek prosthetic limbs while he bides his time until he receives more news about his wayward children.

Theodosia ( cen ) Benes, (Age: late 40s)

The mother. Renowned pianist and lover of Doman tea. Sweet as sugar until you make her angry. Staunch supporter of the Populares. Would probably box the Emperor’s ears herself if given the chance. With the newfound knowledge that her living children are safe and sound, Theodosia has doubled-down on her efforts with the Populares, seeking to undo the laws censoring the arts and give voice back to the people.

Rhoda ( fae ) Benes, (Age: far, far older than she appears.)

I’m incredibly bored and I have had a few new followers as of late, so I figure it’s time to get one of these things done so I can reference it later! So, a brief explanation of my characters, their history, and what makes them tick: Darlain Truthhammer: She was born a Wildhammer of Aerie Peak, daughter of one of the more respected Proudmug brewing families. When the Trolls invaded in the Third War, while she was still a young girl, he decided to flee with his family to Bronzebeard territory as a refugee, when she remained until her young adulthood. Her father doted on her, but her mother, an opportunistic woman who had married for the wealth and status, took out the frustrations of the family’s misfortunes on her husband and daughter. Her father ended up being murdered by a dark Iron thief, hoping to get his recipies, and after her father’s death, her mother took over their small brewery and, upon learning she was meant to be sold off to a patron to lock in a business deal, she took her gryphon and fled to Stormwind, where a kind priestess sensed her potential as a priest as gave her a place to live in the Cathedral as an Acolyte. She lived as a bit of a socially repressed woman until she bumped into Nicholai and the Meddlers, an adventuring band that eventually gave her a purpose, a husband (and 3 children, now), and a family. She’s a bit of a gossip, but a loyal friend, and a cheerleader for any situation, no matter how dire. Pinapple Peppercog-Ambroce:  Pin lived on the surface near Gnomeregan, her parents were technicians that focused on the ventilation system that supplied air to the mostly underground city, which meant a lot of complicated systems interacting together. She had a lovely childhood, and her father would often read stories of heroes to her, which she took into an incredible collection of books on historical battles and legends once she learned how to read. Still a very young woman, Her parents were heavily irradiated during the explosion, and both succumbed to madness shortly after arriving in Ironforge. She was taken in by a foster father, intending to teach her about the blacksmithing trade, but her repression of her situation lead her to run away, and attempt to pursue a naive plan to become a hero, full with a step by step process with multiple tiers of success. In truth, she became a transient, leaning to live in the wilderness and do odd jobs for food, attempting to have her humble beginning manifest into a mystical quest any day. After years of waiting, she instead enlisted as a squire to a military band called the Silver Dragoons, under Commander Harrigan. With dedication and a lot of reality checks, she became a fine officer, and when the unit was disbanded due to sinister influence, she became was promoted as 2nd in command of the Silver Dragoons Mercenary band, under the new commander, Alynore Forrester, whom she proudly served and learned from. Her life since then has been tumultuous, she had a lot of maturing to catch up on, but she eventually became a gifted tactician for the group, and, after her Death in the Legion War, and resurrection by Odyn, she returned to the unit, and took over for Commander Forrester as she joined with the Silver Hand. She’s very intelligent in some fields, and very amateur in others, including love, which, after a few wild and dramatic experiences, she found a loving and fulfilling partnership with Leon Ambroce, and his wife, Kaewynn, her adventures in romance continue, her most recent partner being a gnome mage named Summy, who adds some welcome chaos to her life.

Esther Sassan —Traveling Hannish Apothecary

“Come now, my prickly friend, I only need one of your quills. Be a dear and shed it for me?”

Esther, understanding even at a young age that she would have to forge her own path to success. Raised by her father and his larger-than-life best-friend, alongside the latter’s family, she did not want for company. However, her loving home life later began to stifle her. For the likes of someone aspiring to enter the upper echelons of Hannish society, it was just much too small.

After a few failed (albeit well-intentioned) attempts, Esther headed down the path of academia, learning alongside the children of well-off merchants in Radz-at-Han. Towards the end of her education, her aptitude in horticulture and zoology lead her to pursue employment under one of the most affluent and renown Hannish apothecaries. This didn’t last long, however, as her hunger for more pushed her to chase the rarest and most sought after regents of the moment — Knowing that it would both increase her the size of her paycheck as well as her social currency. In this pursuit, she ended her employment and left Radz-at-Han.

Esther is ambitious to a fault and lives to please others as a whole. She will go out of her way to deliver the best service, especially if it means getting an “in”. Regardless, she loves validation, and is very susceptible to flattery, and will often get in trouble for it.

While she has an affinity for business, especially when it comes to etiquette, her older “sister” guides her through the many nuances involved in her own undertaking.

She has a basic grasp on healing magics, passed down from her father, but she much rather rely on her own alchemic tinkering in most cases. In extension, she makes much of her own skincare and cosmetics, and rarely leaves the house without looking put together (i.e. Lipgloss & Highlighter On Point).

Vynix Nostra- (Sin'dorei/male) @vynixnostra - Bard, owner of The Heart of the Raven Tavern & Inn, ex-con artist and retired from the Silvermoon espionage unit. Has a son named Rien. After a private tragedy in his early adulthood, he took his experience in traveling minstrel and theatrical skill to make a living. Frontlines a collaborated dance club in the ballroom next to his tavern. Currently dating @perchedon . 

Korizar Shademyst- (Ren'dorei/Male) @korizar-shademyst - Informant, Vynix's assistant at Heart of the Raven, married to @sleeping-seer who are both swingers. Addictive personality. Raised by two militant parents who were killed in the fall of Quel'thalas. Easy to talk to, flirty and a very commanding personality. Lives in a tent cliffside near Rustberg's port with his wife.

Serazyth Umbrilen- (Nightfallen/Male) @serazyth - Alchemist and researcher, ley line observer. Nightborne exile from a mid-upper class family of influence who has chosen not to accept the remedy to his Nightfallen affliction for the time being. Cousin of @gigi-etoileur . Currently living with @waterborne-shade who runs an Alchemy shop in Tol Barad.

Karmyne Blazeheart- (Orc/Female) @karmyne - Tattoo artist and piercer. Runs the Blazing Heart Studio out of Rustberg Village. Covered from the neck down in mostly tribal artwork, with numerous piercings over major points on her body. Very loud, ambitious and friendly. Gets along with nearly everyone and will attempt to drink you under the table.

Rowsin Gaines- (Human/Male) @rowsin-gaines - Perfumier and Pâtissier. Young adult who originally moved to Silverpine with an ailing parent. Has the worgen taint but does not remember anything from when he shifts. Very shy and quiet on the exterior almost to the point of wallflowering, bubbly and rather intelligent once warmed up.

Levyn Ari- (Half Elf/Male) @levynari - Combat medic and troll emissary. High elven mother and human father who were both integral to racial relations during the Third War, was kept secluded in schooling by the matriarchal side until he left. Spent years integrating into various Troll tribes [to varying outcome] to learn their culture and medicinal training. Divorced, and more recently divided from the church of the Light. Currently in Zandalar.

Ethyn Quilhaven- (Sin'dorei/Male) @thelibertinelibrary - Author of a romantic line of books that he touts with a traveling cart dubbed The Libertine Library. Spoiled and cock-sure from a wealthy bloodline, he enjoys as much of a hedonistic lifestyle as possible, while being practically introverted when inspired to write.

Deivora- (Draenei/Female) @deivora - Retired Arms Master with a forté in polearms. Freelances in guard and security work when the job suits her. Middle-age as far as her race is concerned, she is wary of the younger races. Stoic and dry of wit, she has slight xenophobic tendencies that stem from her extensive time on Argus and, therefore, demonic presence.
