#character dice

A fun little spooky set I worked on for a custom character commission. The brief was for a shadar kai fighter/grave cleric and follower of the Raven Queen. We went for raven skulls on a stony base, with black and purple wisps -- the black representing her character's hair and a small dash of purple to represent the lock of purple hair her character kept as a memento. We inked the crits silver to represent her shortswords, and black for the rest to keep things spooky. It's always fun to delve into what elements of a character and their story are the most important, and finding ways to represent those elements in dice form.

Orym of the Air Ashari is up next. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to focus on his nature vibes of play off his tattoos, you know ‘big moon little moon’, so I tried to do a mix of both. Honestly I loved that line because of how raw and open he sounded listening to Laudna’s story.

This set of dice took me an absolute age and Im devestated to say they dont photograph well. I had to make a new set of cores that I could sculpt on top of to create the filigree designs inside, then so that wouldn’t effect weighting, I made a new mold and cast the cores in resin, hand painted, and enclosed in a shell. This is another set of character specific dice, this time for a renaissance spymaster.

The campaign hasn't started yet, but I'm very excited to use these now! 💚🍃✨
