Who are their parents? Biologically and socially. (Bonus: how was their relationship with them?) Holly Elizabeth was born to Margaret and Peter Grant. However, her father, Peter, left her, her brother and mother when Holly was very young and since then, Margaret found another man, Harley, to love and married him. Harley is Holly’s stepfather. For the most part, Holly gets along fine with her mother, but that’s mostly because they ignore each other. Holly feels like she loves her new husband more than she loves her, and pays all of Harley’s bills, waits on him hand and foot, and is more like Harley’s slave. Harley, ever since Holly was six years old, has been sexually abusing her all of her life and still is whenever Holly is home. She is deathly afraid of him, doesn’t view her own bed as hers and has developed many issues from that abuse.
What is their earliest memory? Opening her third birthday present, which was a Skater Shannon, a doll that came with a skateboard that both her parents got her.
What did they want to be when they grew up? Holly is interested in art and always has been. She is a terrifically talented artist, painter and artist, and she has always has been. She loves all art.
What did/do their parents want them to be? Holly’s mother honestly now doesn’t care less, too occupied with Harley.
Do they have siblings? Older or younger? Brothers or sisters? Holly has an older brother of two years, Shaun, who she very much looks up to. He has always taken care of her.
Do they have or have they ever had children? How many? No.
Do they or have ever had a significant other? Are they still with them? Why? Why not? Holly, because of her stepfather’s sexual abuse, has always been very flighty when it comes to relationships. She doesn’t trust anyone at all, especially men, and feels, since she has been used so much in her life sexually by her stepfather, that she can be used sexually with any guy. She has a reputation of being, for lack of a better word, a whore. She does hook ups quite well, but never anything serious. She’s too afraid.
What were they doing right before the story starts? Living mostly away from her home, to keep away from her stepfather. She is also studying at a prestigious art school school now, and wants to find a job to support herself.
Up until now, what’s the most noteworthy thing they’ve done? To them? To the people around them? (Are they different things for different people?) For Holly, the most noteworthy thing she has done is basically just keeping the secret of her stepfather’s abuse to herself all of these years. The only single person who knew was Annie Pierce, and no one else and still no one knows. She hides all that pain, all that anguish and lost innocence, horror and terror, inside. She’s very good at painting on her emotions.
What was their education like? Holly was always very smart in school, which people are surprised to know because she was always very reckless and slutty in high school. She graduated top five percent of her high school class, actually, and got into a very prestigious British art school to draw and paint. She hopes to get her masters there as well, to get some money.
