The world-changing climax is near. Qin Right Wing is so close to the Centre Army, only to be halted. Here is Akakin, in his ever so gleefulness, to come down to save the day. Once the Right Wing breaks through, the greatness that has been building up for centuries (not really) will finally be on fans’ hand. This chapter was hype inducing; preparing for the epic scale warfare. The grand finale is coming.

The chapter starts strong with Akakin slaying the fleet with ease. The smile only adds more to his sadistic sensation. He’s strong as expected. Perhaps I shouldn’t have doubted him when he was going for Bananji’s head. Although his action is impressive, his remarks remain the highlight of his character. According to him, now that he helped Hi Shin Unit advances, Dansa can now rest in peace. I don’t know what’s more hilarious. The fact he killed Dansa off or one of the men yelled that he is not dead yet. Yet is the keyword. Maybe it’s the translation, but these two seem certain that Dansa will die. Poor guy.

Hi Shin’s momentum rises more and more, thanks to Akou Army. I’m a bit bummed that Akakin doesn’t meet with Shin. It is fine the way it is, but I would have love to see the two interact. Shin would be probably lost at Akakin’s comments, especially with that permanent smile. Anyway, there’s more Akakin’s moments, so I’m cool. In fact, there’s a funny yet nice comradery moment between Akakin and Keikyou.

Despite their Commander status, Akakin orders Keikyou to share his men to assist, and Keikyou is cool with it. Technically, Akakin is a lower rank, yet he acts like he has the superiority. This doesn’t matter to Keikyou, which says something. It’s friendship first over superior. I don’t know much of the guy, but I sensed good friendship, and that’s fine enough. I like how Akakin basically gives Shin a seal of approval. Also, he calls Ousen’s decision the biggest contributor. In short, this was a right call and Shin did not disappoint.

I have to admit, I do feel a little sorry for Kenmou; unable to avenge his fallen comrade. Unlike Gaku’ei, who was raging with furious fire of vengeance, Kenmou’s struggle gives the sense of sympathy. It’s like he’s always doomed to fail. With that in mind, he doesn’t want to end in failure; therefore, he asks for the Glaive to fight against Shin. I thought this was going to be an easy kill for Shin, even with injuries. Instead, it transiting to surprisingly heartfelt moment.

Kenmou wants to fight to avenge Keisha, but Chikushin, a lower rank, tries to stop him. Kenmou is too hot-headed to stop and hell-bent to fight; even if it likely cost his life. Normally, this will be a guaranteed direction. Shockingly, Chikushin fights back hard; actually dominating the debate over Kenmou. But realistically, he’s not wrong. His argument is Zhao’s current status; it’s on the brink of defeat. They lost top men, including Chougaryuu and Gyou’un. Lose any more, the chance of defeat will hit to certainty. They can’t afford to lose anyone anymore. I actually felt the struggle. Imagine being put in a losing side of the war. It’s scary as all hells, but can’t give in at all cost.

Surprisingly, Kenmou does cool down and follow orders to retreat to Riboku. It’s rare to see a frustrated and determined character to be convinced, let alone from an opposing side. I like the nice small moment of farewell between them. It’s as if the storyboard changed side and make Zhao the good guys, though realistically, it’s more than black and white, but you get the idea. I actually felt sympathy the moment when Chikushin falls. It’s shown in a silent page with the leftovers stand against Hi Shin, only to be overwhelmed and Chikushin falls for Kenmou to escape. It’s all silent and effective. Nicely done.

After a moment with Zhao, the attention reverts back to Qin and their rising momentum. The defense to slow down the Right Wing is no more. The tension rise up with the narrator building the hype up. Ever since the day started, the scale has been fixated with the floor plan keeping everyone in a steady position. Not anymore. Riboku’s eyes shut tells a story: the day of reckoning is here.

The sensation gives me an amazing chilling feeling. I got serious goosebumps when Hi Shin catch the sight of Riboku. I love how it built up to Shin’s roar to storm the Centre Army with everything they got. The bird’s-eye view camera of the battleground is mind-boggling. One additional army can change everything. The field was once steady and in proper form, but that goes straight to hell when reinforcements arrive. If that’s not a defining illustration of turning the tide, I don’t know what is. Translation: the epic climax is here!

The battleground has grown even more chaotic than ever. In the midst of collision, Futei went out of his way to see Kaine’s face one more time. That way, he can remember her properly. That kind of reason raise a death flag. It is possible that he will die here. That’s a shame; I was hoping for him to challenge Ousen in a duel. Then again, maybe he will still; then his death is guaranteed.

Even if the war has grown to Qin’s favor, it’s not over until Riboku sings. Everything is slowly falling apart for Zhao, but they will make the best of it. Their situation is now do or die. This is their last stand. Essentially, this chapter is all about Zhao and their last words before embarking the hell zone. Futei reassured Riboku will win the war. Of course he would say that. Regardless, nothing is certain until either Riboku or Ousen falls.
