What was your opinion on the Blight marriage, especially how Alador and Odalia felt about each other currently, before Clouds on the Horizon?
I mean, the marriage itself obviously sucked more than ever near the end. I think there was probably some genuine feelings there, but those haven't existed for a long time. Alador and Odalia seem to me to be both very ambitious people, and once upon a time, I think they would've bonded over that.
Alador is clearly extremely passionate about his work combining Abominations with technology, and Odalia is a gifted salesperson and performer. Alador is slow and methodical; Odalia is quick to sense weakness and jump on it, and all of those things are good for two people running a company to have. They worked well together.
I've always thought that Odalia's favorite of the family is Alador. I still think that, honestly. It's a low bar, but she's never really tried to change him like she did with her children. At the very least, she also understood that they worked well together. It's a super interesting relationship, actually.
