They will set you up and make it look like as though you are the one hiding, lying, and manipulating. If they can make you look like the bad guy to friends and family first, no one will believe you when you try to explain what is really happening. I was lucky that these texts between my ex and his father came through on my daughters ipad. He was telling my FIL that we needed to borrow more money bc the money he gave us to pay for our daughters school, I took and he doesn’t know what I did with it. He was telling my FIL that he needed a separate bank account that I was not on. The problem was I was watching what he was spending money on. It was alcohol and taking other women out to dinner! I sent a pic of the receipt to my FIL to show I paid for the school. I also bought groceries. The rest of the money was spent at a couple bars me ex had gone to.
