Aw, I've had something like that happen to me so I know how that hurts. Are you alright? Death is not an easy thing to get through but you have your family to stand by you and your memories of her to remember. Those are yours forever. Take care!!

Firstly, I’m flattered that I’ve been asked this question as if I’m some kind of authority in the Carmilla fandom. This is very new to me and I am incredibly grateful.

Okay so re: Natasha’s ask and tumblr. According to this post from November 2nd she’s closing her ask due to ‘an overwhelming amount of submissions’. If Natasha says that is why she’s closing her ask then I’m inclined to believe her.She does, however, mention that negative posts are distracting her from her work and on the 19th of October she posted the comment “Actors are sensitive creatures.” which leads me to believe that perhaps some people in the fandom have been negative towards her. Personally, I do not mind that she is taking some time away from tumblr. I feel that whilst Natasha is our Carmilla, she does not owe us anything. If she wants to step away from interacting via tumblr because it is interfering with her work then, in my opinion, we as a fandom should respect her wishes.

Re: The stalking of her Mum. I would very much like to believe that nothing else has happened after Natasha asked people to leave her family alone. I would very much like to believe that the people in this fandom are respecting the actors and actresses of Carmilla. Not only because they deserve it but because the fact that we, as fans, have such close interactions and relationships with our cast is so important. 

I’d like to think that Natasha taking down her ask and becoming less active on tumblr and the stalking of her mother are unrelated but in my opinion I think that Natasha has become uncomfortable with the fandom. She seems to be a very private and busy person and the fact that somebody overstepped the boundary and stalked her mother (which was so not cool, don’t do shit like that) has now maybe made her feel like we, as a fandom, cannot be trusted.

This, of course, is all my own opinion and may not be how it is at all. There is a very good possibility that the two incidents are not related. Natasha has said that she is very busy and, given how well she acted as Carmilla, I am extremely inclined to believe that she’s probably got heaps of job offers right now.
