13. a fandom you’re thinking about writing for

i'm pretty dedicated to TRC/TDT for now, but i've been feeling very hhmmmm........kinda insecure and needy and unfulfilled lately 😅 in the sense of, like. declining engagement and whatnot. which might be part of the whole cultural shift, i know i'm far from the only person noticing that, but also, like. i'm writing niche rarepairs and taboo subjects for a small fandom, when i used to write big crowd-pleasing fluff for juggernaut pairings in huge fandoms like Sterek and Merthur. i have found myself thinking, a little desperately, of maybe trying to write some of that again, purely because i miss posting something and getting 2k hits and 14 comments overnight and feeling like my writing was worth something and people actually liked it 😭😭😭 which is SILLY and i know that!!!! i am not insecure about my actual writing quality, i know that the people who read my fics love and appreciate them, it's just that that number is like. 5 people now lmao idk i am just lonely lately and missing the validation of my community, ya know?? but if i push myself to go back to those old ships that i'm not actually motivated to write for anymore, and i make myself write for them anyway, and i still get less engagement? because it's a macro problem and not a micro one?? what then????
