if a jar of very special clay just so happens to appear on the cavalry captain's desk, it's because a certain chief alchemist has been observantly watching from afar. fear not, kaeya --- this is no ordinary clay !! this clay has been alchemically optimized using a proprietary formula, designed to aid in brightening and rejuvenating skin for a healthy glow. yes, this is the first iteration, but albedo tried some himself, and he is reasonably certain it works as intended. ( as a matter of reference, he has also included some instructions on proper use, handwritten in his meticulous penmanship. he will be eagerly awaiting the results of this experiment.... )
if at first he’s skeptical of the little jar on his desk ( he has been poisoned once like this, mind you, ) the distrust vanishes once he reads the familiar handwriting of the chief alchemist of mondstadt. once he knows the content of the little present, he wonders what he has done to deserve it ━ perhaps it’s just a little gift from colleague to colleague...? perhaps it’s an experiment of mischievous nature, but kaeya decides that he’s having a good day, and he’ll take the risk if it means getting a rare smile out of albedo.
except that... well, let’s just say that a letter written in elegant characters will find its way into albedo’s camp desk, the calligraphy of the cavalry captain unmistikable, thanking him profusely for the product and decanting how much better his skin feels and looks after his pampering baths and facial masks. hydro slime face mask? surpassed. out of fashion, bring him albedo’s rejuvenating clay for anything else. also! to repay a gift with a gift, kaeya has gone to fetch a package, sitting atop of the letter for him to find and dutifully sheltered from the cold: inside, the alchemist will find one of the softest, silkiest and warmest scarf adorned with the chief alchemist’s colors: golden and deep blue. with that one, albedo should never fear a cold in his life, even if he keeps his throat exposed like he usually does in his attire.
