I’m sorry for losing my temper the night you told me Louis proposed to you. I’m sorry for not waiting longer at the Empire State Building. I’m sorry for treating you like property. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I loved you when I knew I did. Most of all I’m sorry I gave up on us, when you never did.

But we’d be hollow. Empty rooms shuttered and dank, without passion, we’d truly be dead.

The moment they set their eyes on each other during high school, they knew they were set for eternity. Chuck had never loved the routine of every day life. He loathed school, he hated his father, he hated the house he grew up in and the neighborhood where it was situated, but he adored Blair. She was the girl next door and kindred spirit ever since they were children and played together. She shared his need of freedom and loathed the place as well, that was the reason why she proposed him to run away together and live day after day free from the chains of society. He agreed, of course, and the day of Blair’s 18th birthday he took his old car and drove them to Las Vegas where they got married. She was astonished, but prepared. It was only natural for them to tie the knot after all those years secretely spent making love whenever their parents were out to run errands. And marriage was something that would strengthen their connection even more. Law united them but was also against them when they started their masquerade journey. They loved roleplay, and decided to use it to make a living. One day they were a couple of brothers looking for money to pay for their grandma’s surgery and another day he was a jewellery seller and she was a fake socialite from the Upper East Side. You may believe they’d lose their minds playing roles all the time. Well, they never did. Because as long as they were together, they knew who the real Chuck and Blair were.

But the plan for Chuck and Blair was always a ‘long­term play’ once we saw that chemistry. In a way, that love story between those two characters was always one of the overarching stories of the whole show .
