I definitely don't do this kind of post on the regular but I did see a random post that reminded me of this trope and I was inspired. Btw, this isn't like a very serious variety of post, a lot of people use the Hanahaki thing to have characters suffering and dying because of unrequited love... I just think it's funny for these idiots to be spitting flower petals at inconvenient times.
Charlie: big ball of emotions and not known for subtlety, poor girl can barely finish a sentence without flower petals falling out of her mouth. Somehow silly and dramatic about it, will sit and stare longingly at the handful of flowers she just coughed up BUT if you ask her why she's spitting up petals, she will panic and claim she took a bite out of a rose bush to see how it tasted.
Vaggie: big on the suffer in silence side of things. Can't and won't admit to there being a problem. Anytime she feels a cough coming on she quickly makes an excuse to step away, hack up flowers then shamefully dispose of the evidence. Despite her attempts at control, she has a lot of feelings and usually has to finish her day by sweeping up a pile of flower petals off her office floor.
Lute: has done this shit before and is over the bullshit flower disease. Through trial and error, she has determined the fastest way to deal with it, no mess, no evidence. She simply will quietly cough into her fist while her mouth fills up with stupid flowers, then chew and fucking swallow them.
