Mutsumi and Goliath are able to find this guy in SECONDS and have his number almost immediately. Between Mutsumi's deduction skills and Goliath's physical prowess, they make quick work of the assassin before he even has time to react. I love the casual teamwork and especially the quick reaction speed. I'd expect nothing less from the Yozakuras!
TAIYO PROTECTED GOLIATH!!! I love love love this because Taiyo isn't just protecting Mutsumi, he's protecting his family—and Goliath counts as family, so Taiyo instinctively jumps in to shield him. When was the last time Goliath was protected instead of doing the protecting? Probably not since his puppy days. (Also, I love Taiyo's happy little smile—he's so proud of himself!!)
Goliath can SMELL BOMBS apparently. (I guess what he's really smelling is the gasoline, which would naturally be a dead giveaway). Love how his eyes are drawn in the last panel, almost like a dragon's. It definitely gives him "wild beast" vibes. Looking directly into his eyes must be terrifying oto
I love that Taiyo is so determined to hang on. He's genuinely suffering here, but he insists on letting Goliath run at top speed anyway because he knows that Goliath rarely gets to let loose like this, and he's trying to be considerate of Goliath's needs. And he frames it as simply doing more training, which is such a Taiyo mindset lmao. At least he's getting good endurance practice!

Look how happy Goliath is!!! He's humming a little tune to himself and everything <3 Mutsumi says that he practically never gets to leave the house because he's the family guard dog and needs to protect the manor, which makes me feel so bad for him. He must have been waiting a LONG time for this.
He's a fast little guy, too! 320 km per hour is equal to 198 mph, which means he's easily going faster than a car. Rip Taiyo for having to hold on to what is basically a very furry rocket T.T
Goliath can change his size!! What a fun super-ability for the family guard dog. He can get MUCH bigger than this, so he must be trying to keep his size down since they're out in public. I love that he's still just a huge mass of black spikes, just bigger. He looks like a real working dog now.
Also Mutsumi trying to play it off like it's perfectly natural (with that little wink!! she's so adorable <33).
Goliath lore!! We finally get an explanation for how Goliath is SO absurdly powerful. It turns out he's an Okami dog--I couldn't find the kanji version of his breed name, but I bet the name stems from the polite honorific 御 (o-) and 神 (kami), a deity spirit. It'd certainly be fitting, as we'll soon see. Mutsumi doesn't say where the Okami breed came from, but I feel like the Yozakuras had something to do with their creation. If that's the case, it's likely that someinine was involved and that's how Okami dogs can grow to such monstrous proportions. I would love to meet a mad scientist ancestor who bred superdogs using their own blood.
The Okami breed has been around since the mid-Edo period, which is around the time Tsubomi was active. Goliath himself is not nearly that old, but if he belonged to Mutsumi's great-great-grandmother, he's easily around 100 years old. He's an old geezer! No wonder he never wants to join in on the Yozakura siblings' shenanigans lol.
