The cover art for ch204 actually harkens back to what Finny and Snake wear to the Halloween party in ch120.

In both cases, Snake dresses as a witch/wizard, while Finny dresses as a vampire.

It's just that this time, Snake's outfit looks like he attends Hogwarts, while Finny looks like an Anne Rice character with a martyr complex. 😏 And neither one looks happy at all. 😢 They look exhausted and close to tears.

Well, Finny can remove that crown of thorns as soon as he tells Snake the truth about how his other circus friends died (at least the ones that came to Phantomhive Manor). He can get that burden off his chest and feel some relief.

If I had a nickel for every time Akutagawa came to save Atsishi and died trying I'd have two nickels.

It's not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Seriously Akutagawa get it together, this is getting embarrassing.

And Atsushi, participate. You're basically immortal, you can take some damage to your internal organs.

I like this expression so much. It's pure frustration. A full page of just Mystogan visibly trying his best not to cuss Laxus out.

The anime has pacing issues (and expressional issues because they just can't translate the emotions properly) in moments like these-- there are long pauses supposedly for dramatic effect, and I really don't like that.

I definitely have a bias for the manga, because this entire sequence happens in one interaction. it's not dragged out between moments and pans and commercial breaks and dramatic music-- it happened, Mystogan didn't want it to happen, and in the confusion, Mystogan hurried out a bitter explanation and left.

To rub (him) out is a colloquialism for an assassination

It unfortunately is also slang for masturbation, which is why it’s impossible for me to take it seriously
