In a climate where “grabbing” has become a phrase in our national conversation, where our president has bragged about violating personal boundaries -- “the impossible” -- by “grabbing” women . . . 

You went with this for your end-of-the-year slogan?

For a school whose local orbit churches are ashamed to admit a connection because BJU’s reputation for sexual scandal is so pervasive, for a school whose recent student just last year was arrested for forcible sexual assault of 3 minors . . . you went with this?

This is as ridiculous as your White Out.

This is as tone deaf as your “American History Month” in February.

For all our obsession with branding, you do such a rotten job at it.

Good grief, BJU.

Bob Jones University is pretty proud of its MLKDay service projects. They got top-billing with the Greenville News today. 

This BJU-as-Hero narrative isn’t new. These pictures are from Life Magazine, 1948, as BJU was peddling its 100% Americanism to a national audience. This was the “service project.” 

We all just called it “extension” back in the day. This was at a Prison Camp in Lickville, SC. 

BJU hasn’t changed. It’s just re-branding. 

The Center for Global Opportunities at Bob Jones University is getting finished.
