(0____0) Cerendak
Cerendak had seen many things in her life as a TalāDarim. Violence, blood, and gore, none of it had impact on her anymore. Neither did seeing aggressive individuals or someone who was rather powerful. All of it was atypical for TalāDarim.
What was always shocking was to have someone who was so out of place of that norm.
The forgemother watched in confusion, fairly speechless as she watched Neveux quietly pick up the large insect-like monstrosity on the floor with a datapad, idly shooing it towards the center without a hint of fear and an almost sympathetic look on is face before moving to the window to let the thing go free.
Personally Cerendak would have smashed it. Most TalāDarim would. It was a large arachnid-like abomination that had been hissing at Yorenix, making the infant cry, rushing to hold onto her motherās leg. She was more than ready to smash it into a pulp but Neveux had interjected with a raise of his hand and moved forward patiently.
Just like that her anger had ebbed away, watching this small TalāDarim without question pick up the creature and let it go out the window, carefully closing and latching it into place, āIāll do a sweep of the room for any holes or the like for how it got in. She was just scared by all accounts and wonāt be poking in around her again,āāShe?ā Cerendak managed out, really beside herself again with how Neveux could even tell a gender.
The short TalāDarim gave a nod, clasping his hands behind his back, straightening himself up as he did when he was about to explain something, āYes she. She was a female and she was aggressive because she was carrying eggs. The Traveling Warrior Spider doesnāt build webs to house the eggs. She was looking for some nice, dark corner to lay them in and then go about finding food for when the little ones hatched. Very close to that point it seems by how swollen the abdomen was but that will mean there will be less pests around if she nests nearby,ā He explained with a shrug.
Cerendak made a slight face, āYou let it live, why? It would have been easier and safer to smash it. Those are venous,āāOh I know they are venomous, but you shouldnāt kill a mother for protecting her young nor kill something because you can. There is something to be said about showing some mercy. The more profound it is, the more it can be remembered, even by an animal,ā Neveux gave a shrug, āBut that is besides the point. The training reports have come in and look promising. As always, your children are at the top of the pack. However no young ones to speak of yet to fill their places as they grow older,āThe forgemother paused before picking up the fussing Yorenix who was glowering at the window, patting the back of her daughters head lightly, giving a nod.Mercy. Such a foreign concept and such a strange thing to see in practice.
A hint of a smile touched her features though as she gave a nod to Neveux.
Perhaps there was a place for mercy in TalāDarim society and as he had said, the effect was enough to make her pause just at seeing such a small act.
āGet me Grenivor,ā She stated simply, āI think it is time to show a little more of our own mercy to those children without homes in the streets of Slayn,ā
