The first 3D illustration from my new series, transforming 2D backgrounds into low poly illustrations, is finally complete!
This one is the Cereal Bar from Bravest Warriors (from Season 1 Episode 9 entitled âThe Cereal Masterâ).Â
I couldnât pinpoint who the exact background designer is (if anyone knows, please tell me!), but this is probably one of my favourite backgrounds of any animated show. There is something so appealing about the futuristic yet dirty design of this kitchen. Itâs really cool and I had a really fun time trying to re-create it. To the designer of this background: your work is awesome!
On a side note, transforming 2D images that were never meant to be 3D into 3D is definitely a challenge! A lot of creative cheating had to go into getting the camera to show as much of the scene as it does, and even then, the angle doesnât completely match the original design, but I think I captured the general idea (I hope!).
Now on to my next project! Which background should I pick next?...
