✨New Crew✨ Rabbits 🐇 and goats 🐐 on the horizon 🌅 Just a little shout out 🤩 I’m teaching a very exciting class at Risingholme Wednesday 10-12 8 weeks starting 8/2-23 It’s handbuilding (mainly) and the idea is that each learner works individually on their own project therefore some prior experience with clay is preferable, one term is sufficient enough. You will have the opportunity to work on a project that might take longer than the usual classes which opens up endless of opportunities. It could be one bigger project or a few smaller ones. Some idea’s that spring to mind is a sculpture, a tea pot and cups, a bowl, vase or urn. Process: sanding down the sharp facettes and edges of base of my signature pieces. Labour of love and passion. Thinking of the piece under all its angles. And feeling it, taking it in my hands, closing my eyes and sensing the piece nearly ready. For me learning ceramic is more than learning a new language; your head has to learn to shut up in order to let your hands and eyes speak, until they ask your head to wake up again and remember what they just achieve: this is how repetition of a shape can happen. Until you feel it all happening. And now it’s time to create my own ceramic studio where I will be able to offer ‘MENTORING’ session for the students eager to develop a focused project I can assist, providing them with the technical assistance they need, as well as the ‘design-crit’ (design edit) that makes a project stands out.
