🔸 I AM SEEN 🔸
Currently available to view via my exhibition “Shifting Bodies” at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery until January 14th 2024.
(little gallery display fact; Guiding Light of Truth to Self is chained above this piece)!
video description: A ceramic sculpture of a ruddy-brown furred canine bust, mouth agape, wire whiskers bristling, teeth bared in a snarl. Flowers, 3D and illustrated 2D wrap around its face, eyes fully concealed by the large, white blooms. A white star marking sits on the forehead. At the back of its throat, a set of human eyes peer back at you.
Hello everyone. Please look at my pottery. I am proud of it. I did a hand building class and a spin-the-wheel workshop.

‘Speak of the Devil’ Conjures the World of Twin Sisters Haylie and Sydnie Jimenez
This is my second try on an oversized textured mug- much better than the first!
I made a series of mistakes with the first attempt that culminated in not securing it enough when I tried to trim it on the wheel. It flew off and cracked enough that I scrapped it.
It definitely ended up being for the best! In this iteration, which I did start to finish in 2 hours, I made the slab long enough, made the mug taller, cut out the base and built the mug there instead of around a cylinder that was hard to remove, and just generally did a better job on the lip and handle.
I don’t have class again till January, but I’ll try to come up with a really spectacular glaze concept by then.
