June 5th, inappropriate practices were spotted at the 77 Commercial Street site being developed by 'former' slumlord Bistricer. A bulldozer dug up possibly toxic soil from the project site & dumped it on the street without a visibly posted work permit.
According to City Planning's revised Negative Declaration ('revised' because of local hell raising efforts; 'negative' allows for a project to proceed) for this project, this site has an E designation for dealing with hazardous materials, air quality & noise, reference # E-318. No Phase I & II Testing has yet occurred. As the protocol proceeds, information may be found here. For known contaminants, this from the 2005 Greenpoint-Williamsburg EIS.
