Greenpointers.com is the go-to, hyper-local website to find about all things happening in neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Nasa’s Oceans Melting Greenland study will deploy 200 robot probes to measure the full extent of Arctic climate change
This should be the determinant as to how the waterfront is developed.
Had the Environmental Reviews been tight, we would be in the position of more soberly understanding what needs to become of Bushwick Inlet. Only one element not yet taken into consideration by any ER is the internet's influence on the movement of people, all other ER shortcomings are unforgivable. Of course we don't want to end up with a Three Gorges Dam either via over engineering.
Please be aware the 2005 Greenpoint Williamsburg Waterfront Rezoning Final Environmental Impact Statement’s Appendix K contains the Combined Sewer Calculations based upon a 1988 44.7″ annual rainfall.
According to this 2014 bar graph, what average rainfall do you think should have been used to calculate future CSOs, particularly in areas w/o 'high level sewers' and with newly elevated ground plains?

This map shows how all of NYC's airports much of the Tri-State area could slip underwater if the planet warms by two degrees.

Meeting: Tuesday 6/16/2015 6:30pm

Place: McCarren Play Center Community Room, 776 Lorimer Street, Brooklyn
2015 UPDATE & NEW PETITION
Dear Save Greenpoint Enthusiasts: The 2013 local ULURPs took the wind out of our little grassroots organization, we have been passive since. The approved two actions, 77 Commercial Street and Greenpoint Landing, managed to offer the community little in return for being host to a near total land sky gobble. The advantage of having participated in the public hearings was we made our discontent known and shed light on previously unvisited issues. Some of these issues the North Greenpoint Community Advisory Group has continued to champion, such as its focus on the Nuhart State Superfund site across from our Greenpoint Playground and catacorner the proposed self-serving school. Much time has gone by and we are still not convinced the approved Greenpoint projects resulting from the 2005 Greenpoint-Williamsburg Rezoning are well planned, regardless of efforts made by so many.
Please join us, by asking New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to up the ante! Click here to review and sign our new petition.
Thanks so much for your shared interest and participation!
Trash in front of 1133 Manhattan Avenue, a mere 7 story, 210 residential unit building. What can we expect of 77 Commercial Street’s 720 residential units, Greenpoint Landing’s 1,476 residential units?
Across the river in lower Manhattan, this problem persists, per Pasquarelli’s Crain’s article.
After 21 Commercial St.'s façade is completed, the sidewalk will be 14'-4" wide, not the DoB permitted 15'-0", unless of course if the street itself is narrowed. Next door at Barge Park the sidewalk is 15'-0", MTA/Box Street Park 17'-11" wide. Those inches are money. At least the area's overdevelopment is consistent with previous inconsiderations, http://song-online.tumblr.com/post/86415845517/look-at-where-the-projected-development-locations
Park Rally: Saturday 5/16/2015 12:00pm
Agenda: Join Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park, local elected officials & your fellow community members in demanding the City realize its plan to create a 28 acre public park at Bushwick Inlet. This park will help offset neighboring Greenpoint’s open space person ratio, which anticipates a reduction resulting from the 2005 Rezone actions.
Place: North 10th St. & Kent Ave. Brooklyn
Meeting: Thursday 3/26/2015 6:00pm
Agenda: North Greenpoint Development Community meeting organized by Council Member Stephen Levin. Superfund NuHart, Greenpoint Landing & 77 Commercial Street updates.

Does how you define a place really have anything to do with that place, North, East, South, West for starters?
This project is an example of a developer who does not understand the architect/developer relationship and is given free rein to go whole hog on the NYC waterfront by City Planning. Don’t be fooled, this ain’t lux. It’s an overpriced bloated glam bells & whistles cul-de-sac coated in battleship grey alucobond galore. Some serious ‘value’ engineering must have occurred. Better to live in the ugly building looking out, than the other way around they say. Yikes!
Is ultra high density living as environmentally and economically sustainable as it is believed to be, or does it make the problem of sprawl bigger while compromising city life?
Are you from The City originally? If you've moved to The City, what has become of where you're from? Has your original birthplace returned to nature?
