It's a new #amp AND new reading material day! The amp is My new (March) 1962 #Fender #Tremolux and the book is "#Clapton's Guitar - Watching Wayne Henderson build the Perfect Instrument" by Allen St. John. Do you know who #WayneHenderson is? I didn't until a couple of years ago when my friend (and literary benefactor...😁) @michaelsegui introduced me to #HendersonGuitars and his own personal Henderson - a #CenturyOfProgress-inspired #flattop. What an incredible guitar it is. He even lent it to me once...for like a month! He's nuts, but man did I enjoy it! 😄 Anyhoo: As the book's subtitle implies, Wayne Henderson built a guitar for #EricClapton, which is pretty cool all on its own. But what Mike told me about the man himself, his way of life, philanthropy, generosity, and commitment to his community was just fascinating. He sounds like an incredible person as well as an incredible #luthier. Thanks for the book Mikey! I am starting it as soon as I sign off Instagram for the evening. I.e. in about 12-18 hours from now... 😆 PS: I don't know if Wayne Henderson has an Instagram but you can check the work of @elizabethjhenderson, his daughter, and a very talented luthier in her own right. Late '30s Gibson L-C Century of Progress in the shop! We've had this one for a bit, but wanted to get the bridge properly reglued, saddle cut for optimal action, and generally dial the guitar in to play its best and be structurally 100%. Always fancied this model, and the Worlds Fair connection makes it just that much cooler.
