Navin Rawanchaikul works in various media including sculpture, painting, performance, photography, and film. In 2010, Rawanchaikul was awarded the national Silapathorn citation from the Thai Ministry of Culture in the field of visual arts. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions at MoMA P.S.1 in collaboration with Public Art Fund, New York (2001); Tang Contemporary Art, Hong Kong (2008); and Valentine Willie Fine Art, Singapore (2011). He represented Thailand at the 54th Venice Biennale (2011) and has participated in numerous group exhibitions around the world. Rawanchaikul lives and works in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Fukuoka, Japan. Navin Party is from a project of the same name, executed collaboratively with current Centre A Executive Director/Curator, Tyler Russell between 2006-2008. Works from this series have been exhibited at Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing, the Venice Biennale, and Café for Contemporary Art in North Vancouver.

Gu Xiong, a multimedia artist from China, now lives in Canada. He is an expert in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video, digital imagery, text, performance art, and installation. Gu Xiong’s practice centres on the creation of a hybrid identity arising from the integration of different cultural origins. Through the critical angle of visual art, his work encompasses sociology, geography, economics, politics, and literature, as well as the dynamics of globalization, local culture and identity politics, through which he constitutes an amalgamation of multiple cultural histories and seeks to create an entirely new identity. The construction of a new level of being is Gu Xiong’s primary interest.
