Some people unironically believe that Trump is anti-authoritarian.
I feel this is partially a result of conservatives becoming the counter culture. They pretend that Leftists are the only authoritarian leaders. Because we have defied their traditional culture.
And partially because Trump became the leader from outside of the normal structures of coming up from inside the system.
He's an unconventional authoritarian, but still an authoritarian. Stop looking into conventions and start looking at his insanely authoritarian values of dehumanizing people just because they immigrated into our country.
Unconventional authoritarian are the most concerning of all, he has broken so many rules already. Whose to say he won't lead our country into a dictatorship.
The scariest thing about that is some people, more than we want to admit, WANT that. And Jan. 6th actively demonstrates that. What else were they expecting to get from that? And these are the people who consider themselves anti-authoritarian. Yikes.
