It’s awkward. The moment immediately after it happened and the awkward sidestepping in the moments and day after, even now in this one: finally confronted with no way to get out of it. And avoidance has always been second nature to the engineer.

their spine straightens against the back of their seat again && loki tilts their head with a small amount of something that might be deemed sympathy , but more than anything it is simply a show of patience for this to carry onward as long as necessary .

well , what was to be truly expected ? the captain hadn’t made a name for himself out of the goodness of his heart ; IF THERE WAS EVEN ONE TUCKED AWAY BEHIND RIBCAGE. a name that should strike fear , the same way his hook strikes throats ( . . . ) if she had fallen victim to his wiles - he refused to accept the blame. furrowed became brows as a cold gaze studied her. ❝ am i supposed to ( . . . ) apologize ? ❞
