Hunter wasn't really sure what more he was supposed to say, or even really do. Sebastian always managed to do that to him, managed to get under his skin and actually make him question what he was doing. For so long Hunter was fine with snapping at people, pushing them away and not caring if they hated him for it. Maybe it was the fact that they were both older now, in New York, and he actually felt that he had someone in his life who cared about him.

Sebastian opened his door, and almost closed it again. He had been making efforts to get through to Hunter for a while now. Hunter had come out to him as pan, and they'd kissed a few times, but every time Sebastian tried to get him to open up even a little bit, it ended up in disaster. The prosecutor, crossed his arms, as the other began to speak, and raised both his eyebrows, as he went on, "are you ACTUALLY apologizing to me?" He asked, "the great Hunter Clarington himself??" He couldn't help but poke at him a little, considering Hunter had been a dick to him. Again.

He sighed then, "alright, come in," he told him, getting out of the way and pushing the door to close behind him. He walked over to the kitchen then, and grabbed a beer and a bottle of wine. He pushed the beer towards Hunter and pulled the cork to fill a glass for himself. He took a sip, and leaned over the counter, staring at the other. "Listen, Hunter. The thing is, saying sorry is great and all, but it's not gonna work if we keep doing this," he pointed between them. "If I can't even get you to admit you're interested in even banging me, how do you think this is gonna go? We're clearly not exactly friends as far as I understand the term, we have to keep working together as long as I'm with the prosecution, and we clearly both want something here, but every time I get close to you, you jump ten feet backwards like a scaredy cat. And then when I pull back myself, you decide you actually do want to kiss me. And it's frankly getting a little maddening at this point."

So. You might have heard the news that, as of July 12, Tumblr is testing out converting GIFs into looping MP4 videos to help pages load faster:

This is bad. Tumblr is the only mainstream site left where you can post GIFs and they’ll continue to be GIFs - well, sort of, as Tumblr previously tested and implemented turning GIF into GIFV with the same purpose, and it decreases the quality of the original GIF file. Turning them into MP4 videos is even worse.

GIFs are GIFs. They’re not videos. Creators spend hours making a GIF that will look good as a GIF, not as a video.

I hope I don’t need to explain to anyone why continuing to screw over creators is bad for a site like Tumblr, whose continued existence depends on creators not giving up on it, and why gif-making is important to fandom existence.

I for one will not continue to make any more gifsets if I know they’ll just be turned into MP4 files. It’s disappointing to spend my time making something and watch it become ugly once it’s uploaded - and that’s what is already happening without the MP4 conversion.
