Here is what I was asked:
1. If you could visit any 3 events/points in history what would they be?
If I could visit any 3 events/points in history, I would go to Vienna in the 1860s, when Empress Sisi was at the height of her youth and beauty and Prince Rudolf was a little boy. I would go to Yorkshire in 1847 and meet the Bronte sisters, and I would go to 1940s New York and meet my Great-Grandma Blue. She died long before I was born, and I've always wished I could have met her.
2. What one item that you own holds the most sentimental significance?Â
Dinas, my pink star-tailed dinosaur. She is my favorite stuffed animal. I've had her since I was 2 years old. I used to take her everywhere with me. She had a place setting at the dinner table and a Christmas stocking of her own. My parents and even my Grandmother learned to respect her, or toddler-me would get very cross. She is worn out with age now, squeezed soft from all the years of loving hugs.Â
3. What is your current guilty pleasure song?
Um.... 'Larger than Life' by the Backstreet Boys. I haven't listened to it in years- then came across it via  Tumblr post (about the Barricade Boys, and it being like a revolutionary boy band theme song)...yeah...
4. If you could hang be best friends with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Oh, that's a tough one. Umm...I think Rose Tyler. When I first started watching Doctor Who, Rose was the companion and I feel as hard over heels for her as I did for the Doctor. She and I have a lot in common and were, in a roundabout way, in similar places when we found the Doctor. I think we'd hit it off.
5. If you could ask any one person fictional or real only 1 question, who would it be and what would you ask?
I would ask Lily Potter if she could or would ever forgive Snape if she knew all he did to be redeemed (for her).
6. Are there any books/movies that you feel changed your life? What were they and why did they have such an impact?
Harry Potter has had an enormous impact on my life. Like many people of our generation, those books really defined my childhood. Doctor Who isn't a movie but TV shows should count.... and it saved my life....so yeah, that qualifies as a change.
7. What is your favorite place you’ve ever been? What makes it so special?
I don't think I've been to my favorite place yet. If I had to pick one, after wracking my memory, I guess a little beach a few miles outside of San Francisco. I went there with my girl scout troop when I was oh, about 12. Normally I don't like beaches (too crowded, too sunny), but this one was deserted. The sand was a dark brown, the consistency of sludge, and there was a fallen log stretched out a few feet from the lapping shore. Seagulls honked and flew above in the overcast sky. It smelled like the ocean, but not in a polluted or overpowering by fish way. The view wasn't much, just the Golden Gate Bridge off in the distance. But it felt peaceful.
8. Â What country do you want to visit the most and why?
I most want to visit the UK. When I was 8 my Aunt Kita went on a trip to Holland to meet her penpal, then from there they vacationed in London. She came back and told me stories about seeing Big Ben and eating fish and chips in a pub. I've wanted to go to London ever since. Over the years, I've become more and more enamored with stuff that comes from the UK (Harry Potter, Doctor Who, etc). I want to visit and stay for a good while. Plus I have a penpal of my own who lives there. We've been friends for 9 years now and I would love to finally meet her in person.Â
9. What is a hobby you wish you had more time for/were better at?
A hobby I wish I had more time for/was better at is cooking. I love to cook. My Papa is a chef and he started teaching me how to prepare food when I was kid. At first I didn't appreciate the lessons, but ever since I moved out I find myself enjoying it more and more. Using what he taught me, making dishes he's made for me my whole life, it makes me think of him. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment. I find the activity engaging without being too demanding. And watching people eat the food you've made for them, getting seconds because they enjoy it that much... that is priceless. I don't get to cook as much as I'd like, mostly because of budget issues and a lack of free time (being a student is a full time job).
10. What is the best gift you were ever given?
The best gift I was ever given...oh gosh, but I can't think of just one thing! Last year Ceic gave me a T-Rex pillow pet that I adore (his name is Balthazar). My Grandma gave me a locket with a picture of me as a baby with my two cousins (it's special because when I was five my Mother cut ties with her Brother, so I don't know them anymore, but I used to see them practically every day). Papa bought me a turtle necklace for Christmas one year, when I was about 9, that he saw me looking at for ages at the Santa's Secret Shop my elementary school put on. Lots of other little things. I love getting and giving presents.Â
