In her own words: "The most fascinating part of making paper from plant material is the variety of papers that can be produced. The same plant will often yield vastly different papers. The character of the paper depends upon the time of harvest, what part of the plant is collected (leaf, petiole, inner bark), whether the fiber is used fresh or dried before use, how long the pieces are, how it is beaten (by hand, in a Hollander beater, in a blender), how long it is beaten, and how much fiber is in the vat.
