Twas the Week Before Christmas
Twas the week before Christmas and all through the town,
Not a child would calm, not even sit down.
Joy 4 Kids had been a raving success,
One thousand wish lists were addressed.
The donors were loving and presents abound,
Volunteers kept the spirit wearing elf hats around.
The Center is open with clothes here to take,
Foster kids will visit throughout Christmas break.
Appointments are needed but not hard to make,
Just call CCC for goodness sake!
An ID and placement papers are all you will bring,
Don’t forget it today or you’ll be sad and not seen.
A shopping spree like you’ve never dreamed it to be,
Each child will leave with a bag happily.
Two new outfits, pajamas, socks and shoes, oh my!
Hygiene products, two book and a coat to warm by.
But we need help to continue to grow,
Coats and shoes are important but sure do run low.
Like Christmas year round is what we will bring,
Foster children’s joy and laughter does ring.
A child can visit four times every year,
Each season renews without any fear.
A bonus in summer for school to prepare,
A backpack, supplies and something to wear.
The joy on the face of a young foster child
Is all we will need to show our worthwhile.
The stories we share with our family and friends
Teach love and compassion to all without ends.
These children are children no matter their state,
To run and play, make friends and not hate.
As Christmas gets closer and more kids come here,
We hope you hold your loved ones near.
Foster families are angels with unseen wings
Who help foster children have sugarplum dreams.
And this Christmas morning kids will see,
Santa is real and can find them wherever may be.
