Jay Sidhu receives Honorary Degree from Albright College as recognition of his banking efforts
BankMobile, America's first absolutely no-fee digital bank, announced that Jay Sidhu, Chairman and CEO, received an honorary degree from Albright College during its 157th Commencement on May 22, 2016.
Forerunning the digital era of banking, Sidhu also leads BankMobile Technologies and Customers Bancorp Inc., a nearly $9 billion asset bank based in Wyomissing, PA.
"It is a true privilege to be awarded this degree from Albright College, a prestigious school with which we share a community," stated Sidhu.
Sidhu has been a magnate when it comes to banking and has made valuable inroads into business, finance and marketing. Through this honour his undivided efforts to make an impact on the Greater Reading area were recognised.
He established the bank with daughter Luvleen Sidhu in January 2015 and has galloped towards the milestone of two million that is sought to be reached by June 30, 2016. It aspires to financially enrich millennials and the underbanked and encourages them to be aware of the financial facts through a personal banker, a podcast with Ash Cash.
Sidhu has rich banking experience. Before he took the reins at Customers Bank, he was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sovereign Bancorp Inc. The banking institution became the 17th largest in the country as Sidhu took it from an Initial Public Offering of $12 million to a sensational market cap of $12 billion.
His ideating and strategising skills have been recognised through several awards such as Financial World's CEO of the Year, Turnaround Entrepreneur of the Year, and he was also named as the Large Business Leader of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.
Sidhu also boasts to be the alumnus at top institutes such as Wilkes University from where he pursued Master of Business Administration and Harvard Business School where he graduated in Leadership Course.
