At the beginning of the Summer ShrinkWrapMedia gave me the opportunity to record my own radio show in a legit studio! Okay, it's a podcast but we have a producer and everything guys.
The first name I came up with was COMICBOOK ROCKSTAR RADIO which was a nod to my original re-branding as a writer that began ten years ago when I had a panic attack on the floor of San Diego Comicon '04. I gave up comics after that, moved to NYC, got really drunk, roadied for my friend's metal band, wrote a novel on my smartphone, eventually moved to Brooklyn and co-created a revolutionary digital comic book series powerplaycomic.
As I sat in my boxers working on Comicon pictures for EW.com once again this year I was thrown back emotionally & mentally to that time when I gave up all my dreams. I wanted to give up again. The struggle to get kingscountycomics off the ground was getting to me, my complicated love life with a budding burlesque star was making me crazy, and seeing Vito achieve success with his book Stray, well I was jealous.
I'm getting back on the horse and it all begins anew with this podcast. Please give it a listen and spread the word. The last few episodes feature ginzilla from higherlearningchannel as my co-host, one of my favorite people in NYC. So join us for the ride won't you?
