Playing with symmetry and mixed light with @analeigh.pan. We made this quick shoot after shooting for a short film together in Taiwan. Lit using two @cactus_image #rf60x speedlights fitted with #cb60s softboxes. One light was my key and the second set up as a kicker, the bedside lamps providing light for the background. @sonyalpha #a7riii has an excellent sensor and is a pleasure to use helping make this little shoot a lot of fun to produce, as well as the film footage I needed to produce.

I love to mix up available light and strobe to get the look and atmosphere I want to create in an image. This is a perfect example, I lit @analeigh.pan using two @cactus_image #rf60x speed lights with #cb60s soft boxes. One as a key light and one as a fill. We thought it would be cool to get a pizza and use it as a prop, turned out to be a fun idea that I enjoyed. Having finished the portrait shoot with just the available light I set up a single @cactus_image #rf60x speed light with a #cactus_image #cb60s soft box and worked quickly in the underpass with Chris smashing it with and without the pizza as you’ll see. @sonyalpha #a7riii #gm2470f28

So it was lasting down with heavy rain, blowing horizontally straight off the Pacific Ocean, not exactly what had been planned. At least we thought if the forecast was correct and it was just overcast with cloud we could make the light we needed with the #cactusf602 60 inch silver bounce umbrella. That would have been great, but the forecast was along way from close to correct and so we made a less than ten minute shoot time and managed to just about scrape one shot. Not a totally wasted day and a good test for the @cactus_image kit. Plenty of power from twin #rf60 #speedlights into the Umbrella and a touch of fill from another rf60 through a #cb60s #softbox. Shooting at iso 800 allowed 1/16th on the twin set and 1/32nd on the softbox. It was always planned to be #monochrome, so at least something went to plan. Tough conditions, but the kit did well.
