WOW BLAST FROM THE PAST - MAKEUP I DID IN 2013. I was going through some old e mails today and came across this image, I am so pleased I did as it brought back some nice memeories from my early days in makeup. I thought this would be a nice image to show to inspire new artists to get out there and network to build your portfolio and business. Using @kryolanofficial I had only been in Edinburgh a short while and I was still pretty new to the makeup industry. I did not know anyone in Scotland, but I knew I had to get out there and network so I could build my portfolio and business. Nothing was stopping me, I had a fire in me to get out there. I met a local photographer and we met a handful of times and shot some creative makeup looks. This specific look was inspired by high fashion runway makeup. Inspiration was Val Garland looks as well as Pat McGrath. A few years into makeup I then started to create my own original looks, looks that had never been done before. Like my rise of the guardians animated film look. This took my makeup from strength to strength creating and practising my looks every single week. There was not a week that went by when I was not doing something with makeup. Always pushing myself to try new things and create new things. Trying new products, brushes, textures etc. This has to be done to be a successful makeup artist, you can not cut corners and expect to get the results you want. TEST TEST TEST, NETWORK YOUR ASS OFF, BE HUMBLE, WORK HARD, BE PROFESSIONAL ALWAYS.
