I have an amazing Jack/Caiti prompt: Jack was born Jacqueline Shannon Patillo, and, after transitioning in high school, wears his epic beard to remind himself that he's who he wants to be now. Caiti is the best thing that's ever happened to him, and she doesn't even know his secret until about a year into their courtship, because Jack's sort of self-conscious and not into sex because of it. Caiti proves she loves him completely, imperfect body and all.

Jack gets a call during the night from a drunk and lost Gavin.
He heard it from a distance in his sleep and it woke him up. He quickly turned around to pick up his ringing cellphone and ripped it from the charger. He swiped it to answer, his eyes unfit to see who was calling him in the middle of the night.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Hey Jack!” he recognized the familiar English accent immediately.
“Gavin, what the fuck, it’s two in the morning on a Thursday!” he questioned. Gavin gave a nervous chuckle.
“Yeah, I know, I’m bloody sorry about calling you, but I know you’ll be willing to help me,” he replied.
Jack groaned as he reached for his glasses. “What’s up?”
“I am stranded on the side of a highway, I think I’m on the 10, there’s a sign towards Houston.”
“How did you end up on the 10 at two in the morning?”
“I don’t remember, I’m still pretty bevved up.”
It explained enough and Jack raised from the bed. “Alright, I’ll be on my way, try not to get kidnapped or killed.”
“Thank you so much, my cellphone’s got about 20% battery and I don’t want to waste it.”
“Right.”
He turned off his phone and looked for a pair of sweatpants to pull on. He heard Caiti move around in bed.
“Where are you goin’ at this hour?” she mumbled as she turned towards him.
“Help a friend out, go back to sleep dear, I’ll be back,” he shushed her. He walked over to her side of the bed and kissed her forehead. “Go back to sleep.”
She watched him walk out of their bedroom and heard his footsteps go down the stairs. She knew she wouldn’t be able to fall back to sleep now but she closed her eyes in hopes of trying.
Jack slipped on a pair of sneakers and started the car. The air was cold, and the hair on his arms stood up as he walked out of his house. The moon was clear as the sun in the black sky. There were barely any stars for he lived too close to the city to see any.
Jack yawned behind the wheel as he wished that he could go back to bed. Gavin rarely called him and he thought, why? He could’ve called Geoff, Burnie, anyone else. He wanted to call and ask as the reason began to seep into his bones.
The highway was mostly dark, but with the light of the moon he was sure that he would see Gavin walking down the side of the road. He didn’t want to put the heater on. The cold was keeping him up anyways.
He saw him from a mile away. Walking west on the side of highway. Recognizable from his hair and lanky figure. Jack put on his warning lights and moved to the side of the highway. Gavin turned around to shield his eyes from the headlights. Jack got out of his car and walked towards him. Gavin didn’t seem too stable to be on his feet and the marks of his knees told of times he fell and got back up.
“Why are you walking to Houston?” Jack asked out loud. He jogged up to Gavin because he knees look they could collapse again on themselves.
“I don’t know, just, take me home,” Gavin said. It seemed like the alcohol was hitting him hard and his head was spinning to the point of no return. His usual sun-tanned skin looked pale and his bright green eyes could barely look straight. Jack tried to help him by letting him lean on his shoulder. It seemed like he didn’t want to walk anymore so Jack just pulled him off the ground and carried him. “I’m sorry, Jack, you are the best.”
Jack felt awful for his coworker and friend. Though, only him could get in such trouble on his own. Gavin was tall and sat awkwardly in his arms. He put Gavin down for one minute to open the door of the passenger side and help him in.
Jack started the car up again and drove back to Austin. Gavin seemed limp in his seat. Jack didn’t feel comfortable seeing him with his head back against the seat.
“Are you okay?” Jack nudged him. Gavin grumbled.
“Yeah. I might puke though.”
“Don’t puke in my car please.” Jack begged. Luckily, with no on the road, they had arrived in Austin in a good amount of time.
“Can I stay the night with you? I don’t want to wake Meg up,” Gavin mentioned as he tried to get himself to sit up straight. He held onto the dashboard to keep himself straight but he couldn’t keep his eyes open. Jack sighed, seeing the younger man’s hands tremble was enough for him to agree.
“Jack?” Gavin started again.
“Yeah?”
“Thank you. And I mean it, thank you. I’ve done and said some really effed up crap, but, I don’t mean it, I never mean it. You are the lion with the heart of gold,” he blabbed on in his drunken state.
Did alcohol really bring out honesty in people? Jack listened carefully. They were never the ones to fight or get really mad at each other at the office. Though, his thoughts of Gavin had changed in the course of him spewing words he could barely understand due to his heavy English accent and using terms that he wasn’t familiar with.
Gavin held onto his seatbelt like they were still driving, but in fact they were parked in Jack’s driveway. Jack didn’t mention it. He wanted to hear what he had to say.
“And by God, Jack, I really.. really want to talk about Meg to you. Like, you knew, for a very long time how terrible I was at relationships. I was God awful and heaven help me how shit I was to those girls. It was a extremely terrible thing I was doing, but I couldn’t help it. I didn’t know what to do. My vocabulary is bunch of utter mullered words that have no meaning.” he paused to take a deep breath. “I love Meg, so much, and I don’t want to fuck it up.” It seemed like Gavin could cry for how fast his head was spinning and how much the injuries on his knees began to burn. Jack thought it was enough and he quickly brought Gavin inside. Caiti was awake and sitting in the kitchen with her bathrobe. She helped Jack bring Gavin into the living room and settled him on the couch.
“What’s the meaning of this? Is he hurt?” Caiti whispered, worried about Gavin.
“He’s going to be fine, just, bring me the Aspirin and a bottle of water,” he asked gently and she rushed to find the pills and the water bottles. Her slippers dragged along the floor as she quickly brought the materials back along with a blanket. Jack held him up as he swallowed the aspirin and the entire bottle of water. Jack slipped off Gavin’s Union Jack sneakers and settled him comfortably. Caiti watched quietly, giving her aid whenever she thought needed. She scooted to put a bucket next him and a container of leftover chicken and vegetables next to the couch with a note that told him to eat it when he awoke. Jack laid one of his t-shirt on the back for him to change into in the morning. They settled everything for him and as soon as they heard his gentle snore they went back to bed.
“You’re too kind, Jack,” Caiti smiled and kissed him before slipped back under the covers.
Author's notes: Hey guys I've been trying to work on the security officer AU but had the idea for this one so have a quick first part! I know I haven't talked about it before but I kinda like it.
“Project 24-86, I’m afraid it’s time.” The doctor spoke, almost sadly to the Robot who stood at the number referencing it. The two walked into an operation room that was dark, and 24-86 laid down, allowing the doctor to plug him in.
“24-86, I have a personal request.” The robot turned its head toward the doctor in question, “When you awaken, you will be placed with a young man. Look after him.” The robot, unable to respond while plugged in closes its eyes to shut off its own systems. "He is my only son, please, 24-86..."
A screech awoke the robot next, along the the sound of a bang. He sat up with a start and realized he felt... Different.
"CAITIIIII!" The boy who shouted the name stood quickly, an older woman entered the room and looked astounded at the screaming boy who stood only in his boxers.
"Wow, I didn't know you had that kind of voice in you anymore." The woman had her hands on her hips, but seemed kind, the boy from before flashed a look of embarrassment before going back to a look of indifference. The boy had an almost red looking color of hair, longer than most teenage boys' hair, and brown eyes. His face was covered in freckles. The robot stared at the boy, trying to get a read on him, but quickly realized his analysis programming was down.
"What are you staring at, asshole?" The boy's face contorted into a glare that would kill if it could. Confused, the robot shifted, which knocked the blankets off him,
"Where am I?" He jumped at his own voice, not recognizing it. The woman walked over and sat on the bed next to the robot,
"Safe." The robot looked to the woman known as Caiti, she reached for his hand and held it comfortingly. Feeling, warmth. The robot felt emotion and the tingle of touch for the first time. He gasped and grabbed her hand and looked up to her in shock.
"Who am I?" The question caused the Caiti's brow to furrow, and the boy from early to look at him irritatedly.
"You're Gavin, dumbass."
"Michael!" The woman reprimanded the boy, Michael, and tenderly touched the robot, now known as Gavin,'s arm and he glanced at her hand. She whispered to him, "Michael doesn't mean it, he's just a little on edge." Gavin looked flabbergasted.
"My name's not Gavin, it's 24-86.." Caiti raised a hand to. Gavin's forehead.
"You don't feel warm, are you ok?" A loud rumbling shocked Gavin as he felt his stomach tremble.
"What was that?" Concerned, the ex robot looked around the room.
"There's the problem!" Caiti giggled while Michael pulled on a shirt and scoffed, leaving the room. Caiti stood and Gavin followed, wobbling a little and noticing pain through his leg, which was covered in a hard material. The little skin that showed was red and scabbed over. The woman handed him what he recalled as crutches, and he took them, placing them under his arms and bracing himself against them to begin walking.
"You were knocked out when you came here last night, do you remember anything at all?" Gavin shook his head, pausing when they reached the stairs and hesitantly stepping down with his good foot and following with his bad.
"I don't remember anything. Who I am, where I am, why I am here.." He trailed off uncertainly, trying not to fall down the stairs but tripping on the very last step and falling into the arms of a large, burly man. The man had a kind face and thin rimmed glasses with ginger hair and an impressive beard. The crutches crashed to the ground.
“Oh, good catch, Jack.” Caiti gave the man named Jack a quick peck on the cheek as he set Gavin onto his butt on the stairs and picked up his crutches. Gavin looked at the man curiously before trying his best to give a friendly smile,
“Hello!” His voice still sounded weird to him, and he definitely spoke differently than Michael and Caiti. Jack looked surprised and Gavin was almost worried he did something wrong before the man smiled in response and handed him his crutches and helping him up.
“Good morning Gavin, I’m Jack, and this is Caiti and I’s house. Breakfast is at the table.” Gavin stood eagerly and hobbled around,
“Break- fast?” The world felt odd on his tongue, as he tried to find the table.
“Yeah, you know, eggs, bacon, waffles.” Gavin laughed light heartedly, finally finding the table.
“Waahhhhhhh fulls.” This word too, sounded weird. Michael shot him a hot glare,
“What, never had waffles, dumbass?” He spoke condescendingly and Gavin pouted, frowning at the teenager,
“No.” Suddenly he was sad, was he supposed to know what a wah-full was? While pouting to himself, Michael sighed and piled waffles, bacon, and eggs onto a plate. He then covered the waffles in generous amounts of peanut butter and slathered them in syrup that ran over the bacon and eggs too, and shoved the plate toward the boy. Gavin looked at the plate in interest, and Michael stared at Gavin.
“Aren’t you going to eat, fucktard?” Michael waited for the blank faced boy to respond, and shrugged when he got no reply, beginning to eat his own food. He had dealt with many foster kids before, especially ones from unfortunate circumstances like the teen that sat in front of him. His adoptive parents Caiti and Jack Pattillo were kind people, and often had kids coming and going. Michael Jones, now Michael Pattillo, was the first foster kid they had and they had adopted him many years prior. Now he was a sophomore in highschool at 15 years old, and had a mouth like a sailor. The boy watched Michael and eat and hesitantly tried to mimic the action. His face broke out into a grin at the first bite.
“Wow.” Michael looked up to see his foster brother’s face covered in syrup, and crunching happily onto the peanut butter filled waffles. He poured him a glass of milk and handed him a wet paper towel.
“Jesus, you eat like a pig.” Michael rolled his eyes at the dork now wiping his face and swallowing the milk.
Gavin only grinned at Michael, and spoke. “Thank you, Michael!” Michael sputtered on his own milk in surprise,
“That wasn’t a compliment, asshole. And it’s my-cull, not my-coo.” Michael frowned at the accented boy’s pronunciation of his name, but secretly was happy to see the boy smiling after last night. Gavin had come home late last night, straight from the hospital where they treated the many bruises and his broken leg. They hadn’t finished his room yet, so Gavin bunked with Michael, who had forgotten in the morning and called out in surprise. The two finished their breakfast in silence after that, Jack coming in a few minutes later to down some bacon.
“Michael, you better hurry, Lindsay will be by to pick you up in another 20 minutes or so.” Jack spoke fatherly, and smiled, seeing the boy nod and grab his plate to wash it off. Gavin and Jack sat at he table after that, munching on their own bacon until it was quickly gone.
“Where’s Michael going?” Jack was surprised to hear the boy and looked up from his tablet,
“He has to go to school, you will to when you’re ready, but Caiti and I have to finish some paper work first.” Jack spoke matter-of-factly. The two boys were the same age, while the stick thin Gavin did not look to be fifteen, Jack figured having Michael in his classes could give him a layer of protection.
“School?” The question was cut short by the sound of the doorbell going off and Caiti opening said door.
“MICHAEL!! YOU’RE LATE AGAIN!!!” A young lady’s voice screeched from the living room and Gavin jumped and hit his leg against the table on accident. He groaned dramatically as Jack chuckled.
“That’s Lindsay, Michael’s girlfriend. She gives him a ride to school everyday.” Jack stood up and rifled through a cabinet, grabbing a small orange bottle and opening it with a ‘pop’. “Here, this will help the leg.” Gavin took the small pill with uncertainty, and tried to swallow, succeeding after a number of times and nearly puking.
Lindsay came into the kitchen a few moments later, arms crossed across her chest. Gavin smiled at her,
“Hello! I’m Gavin!” He held out his hand for her to shake, and she looked surprised, but took it and shook.
“Oh shit, I totally forgot that there was a new foster kid here! I’m sorry if I scared you with my screaming..” Lindsay gave Gav a friendly smile, “I’m Lindsay, Michael’s girlfriend. Nice to meet you Gavvers!” Confused, Gavin shook his head,
“No, Gavin.” He enunciated it clearly, like she had misheard him, and she laughed.
“It’s a nickname, silly! I know you’re real name is Gavin.” Lindsay grinned at him and his mouth made an embarrassed ‘o’.
“ ‘Ey stop flirting with my girl, ya’ British idiot.” Michael stepped down the stairs three at a time and grabbed Lindsay’s face, pecking her hard on the lips as she giggled.
“ fluuur- ting.” Gavin found yet another word he was unfamiliar with and giggled at it, Michael frowned.
“Goddamnit, first waffles now this? Fucking idiot.” He sighed at the obnoxiously giggling Gavin who was sounding out the words with an overly enthused Lindsay. Jack interrupted,
“Oh Lindsay, I was hoping when Gavin has to go to school you could give him a ride too?” He smiled, and Lindsay hugged a shocked Gavin around the neck,
“No problem-o Jack-Jack! Gavvy is my new friend.” Gavin wrinkled his nose, confused again,
“Fur-end.” Usually pronouncing things weird made the group laugh, but this time it made them kind of sad looking.
“Oh don’t tell me you’ve never had friends.” Michael broke the silence with what seemed to be an irritated groan. Gavin shook his head in confusion.
“Ugh, fine, Lindsay and I are your friends now, look it if you have to, dumbass.” He playfully smacked Gavin in the arm, which made Jack wince, but nothing came of it but a grinning Gavin. Lindsay waved to him as the exited the house for school.
Furr-end. Gavin was happy to have made some, even though he wasn’t sure what it meant.

“Jack! Jack, come see this.” Caiti called from the bedroom, voice muffled because she’d cupped her hand around her mouth to keep from giggling. A small laugh still escaped though as Jack paused his game, wandering curiously to Caiti. He frowned when he found her, curled up in their bed with a book in her free hand. At her feet sat Emma, their dog, with one leg tangled within Jack’s own shorts.
“What have you done?” Jack questioned, perplexed. Caiti shook her head, still laughing.
“Nothing, she managed it herself.” Caiti explained. Jack scoffed.
“We should take them off.” Jack suggested, already walking to the dog as she wagged her tail excitedly at him. Caiti was quick to put her book aside, sitting up and pushing Jack away.
“No, no, no. We should dress her up properly! She’d look so cute, c’mon Jack.” Caiti pleaded, lips pushed out in a comical pout and eyes wide and hopeful. Naturally, Jack couldn’t resist.
Emma sat compliantly as Jack gently lifted her legs and Caiti manoeuvred the shorts onto her. While Jack attempted to tug the shirt over her head, however, Emma started to get excited by Jack and Caiti’s constant laughing. Her tail continued to whip back and forth furiously and Emma started to bark along with them. It took Jack ten minutes to get the t-shirt onto her and another five to recover from the laughing fit that ensued. Caiti snapped a picture on her phone, the first few slightly blurry because of her shaking hands. Emma cocked her head to the side, ears flopping ever so gently, in confusion. Jack rolled off of the bed to grab one of Caiti’s beanies, clumsily slipping it over Emma’s head. Caiti wiped a stray tear that had fallen while she’d been laughing as she took another blurry photo, chuckling every now and then as the novelty wore off.
“This is so dumb.” Jack said softly as he climbed back into bed beside Caiti, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Caiti just grinned widely.
“No, it’s cute!” She cried happily before extending her arms, beckoning Emma into a hug. The pup went eagerly, clambering over the duvet and tripping on Jack’s shorts before clumsily falling into Caiti’s lap. Her pink tongue licked wildly across Caiti’s cheek as Jack smirked at them. Sure, it was dumb but he wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
