In this installment, we focus on one of the key aspects of the feline universe: the Catstartes Chapters β first loyal to the Allpurr of the Allcat.

Cathammer 40,000 β Part 2 β Catstartes β Loyalists
The Essence of the Catstartes Loyal and Their Rise
In the few annals of the Cat Imperium, it is recorded that the Catstartes were created as the Second Generation of Kittens by the power of the Allcat himself β the Divine Purr and the Great Meowmer. The Allcat, in his divine will, decided to create semi-divine warriors who were to become the numerous, fearless shield and blade of the future Cat Empire.
From his Divine Purr, known as the Purr of History, 18 perfect feline beings were created β Purrmarchs, to whom he passed on a fragment of his divinity. They stood at the head of 18 Chapters of Catstartes to carry his Galactic Meow.
The loyal Catstartes are the embodiment of the virtues of the Allcat: courage, loyalty, empathy, and tenacity in the face of threats from the Dark Cat Chaos. For centuries, they have served as the furry defenders of the Cat Empire, preserving the relics of the Allcat and spreading its teachings, based on the Divine Purr and the All Purr.
Their devotion was tested during the Meowus Heresy, when the traitorous Chapters turned against the Allcat. After a long and painful struggle known as the Wailing Wars, the loyal Chapters of the Catstartes managed to save the Cat Imperium from collapse, but their numbers were reduced to nine β a sacred number symbolizing the nine lives of every Cat.
It is they, led by their Purrmarchs, who are the pillars of the Cat Empire today. They spearhead every campaign as the elite of the Cat Empire, inspiring the awe of such forces as the Holy Orders of Meowkats and the Meow Fleet. Each Chapter is different, but together they form an unrivaled monolith β living proof of the immortal legacy of the Divine Purr.
Catstartes Chapters After the Meowus Heresy
Following the disastrous Meowus-Bloodclaw Heresy, which pitted loyal Catstartes Chapters against the corrupt forces of the Cat Chaos, the Chapters of the Allcat were divided into loyalists and traitors.
Here are the 9 loyal Chapters that survived the fratricidal conflict:
1. Lion's Thunder
β’ Colors: Gold and black
β’ Specialization: Frontline combat and incredible physical strength
β’ Description: Mighty Lion Knights, Feline Astartes who never back down. They treat direct combat with ritual reverence and anointing worthy of the Allcat's faith.
2. Fluffy Blades
β’ Colors: White and pink
β’ Specialization: Stealth and surprise tactics
β’ Description: Masters of disguise and diversion. Their gentle appearance lulls enemies before the ambush. Agile, cunning, and balanced in ranged and melee combat.
3. Shadows of the Claws
β’ Colors: Dark gray and black
β’ Specialization: Sabotage and assassination
β’ Description: The most secretive Chapter. Their operations are nearly mythical. Even fellow loyalists question their loyalty due to their secrecy.
4. Maned Warning
β’ Colors: Brown and gold
β’ Specialization: Fortress and strategic point defense
β’ Description: Selfless defenders who never retreat. Their motto: βOur claws defend every fur.β
5. Silver Furs
β’ Colors: Silver and blue
β’ Specialization: Ranged combat and artillery
β’ Description: Tech-masters clad in cyber power armor. Experts in sniping, drones, plasma and energy weaponry.
6. Royal Meows
β’ Colors: Purple and orange
β’ Specialization: Command and strategy
β’ Description: Aristocratic commanders and great strategists. Advisors to the Cat Administratum itself. Tactical brilliance incarnate.
7. Claws of the Wind
β’ Colors: Sky blue and white
β’ Specialization: Aerial warfare and mobility
β’ Description: Some of their Catstartes are gifted with wings. Dominant in sky and space combat. Fast, elegant, deadly.
8. Black Claws
β’ Colors: Black and silver
β’ Specialization: Urban and jungle warfare
β’ Description: Guerrilla fighters of the Catstartes. Savage, tactical, and unstoppable in the harshest environments.
9. Purring Guardians
β’ Colors: Green and gold
β’ Specialization: Protection of relics and sacred sites
β’ Description: Zealously loyal defenders of the sacred. Guardians of the Divine Purr's legacy. Holy warriors of purpose.
These are the sacred nine β like the immortal nine cat lives. Led by their semi-divine Purrmarchs, united in devotion to the Allcat β the Great Meowmer β the Divine Purr.
