@mirogeorgiev
au contraire my friend, this is something I NEVER stop talking about cuz TerraVen is my favorite kingdom hearts ship after soriku and I will fight to the end to save it from cancellation 8))))
Ven is anywhere between 15-17 by now, citing that if he’s roughly Sora’s age as reflected by Roxas, he’s 15 or so by kh2, but Nomura’s non-canonical guess in that tweet that people throw in my face constantly is that he’s 16 in bbs, which would make him older than Sora who is around 15 in kh2, and thus 17 in kh3′s REmind... and 0 about these things is factual cuz no one’s age is relevant to the canon and when Nomura tries to suggest an age, he’s never consistent, so-
Ven’s age is up in the air most of all lol especially since his heart was awake in Sora’s for 10 years which means you could even argue he’s older, on top of being maybe hundreds of years older if you factor in the time travel, or ignore it as I would since he doesnt seem to be affected in the heart by those years....
Tl;DR antis have NO REASON 8DDDD
As I predicted lol “we know we disappointed you in every way possible, here’s 300 embers to make up for it as if this ever could make up for all our shit, we love you, keep buying our stuff and getting ripped off please”
Lmao

At what point did Steven Universe actually start to go wrong?
I know a lot of people are pointing at season 4, as much as we also acknowledge the show’s problems existing even back in season 1, but I personally feel that there was a real, specific turning point, or rather a point of no return for the wellbeing of the series, myself.
For me, the point of no return was the Sardonyx arc. Oh my god, I absolutely hate this arc. I’ve had problems with SU from the start, albeit they are problems I kept quiet about overall because at that point in time, SU stans were so adamant that the show was an absolute Blessing that they would legitimately fight you over having a different opinion. Plus, wanting to be a good ally to minorities, who was I to argue with them about their faves? I’m bringing the first season up here because while I still immensely enjoyed the series at that time, the major problems I had with it existed even there, and PROMINENTLY, and they really come to blossom in the Sardonyx arc.
Problem #1: Pearl. Problematic Pearl. Goddamn the stuff that the writers somehow believed she should be able to get away with. Her abusive treatment of Amethyst and Steven and the apologism for it was pretty disturbing all throughout the first season, Rose’s Scabbard in particular. But the Sardonyx arc is where I finally gave up hope on her. It was so refershing to actually have a character, Garnet especially (whom I refuse to stop stanning cuz she is the greatest~), not only call Pearl out, but not excuse her shit. And yet what do the writers have Pearl do? Cry, play victim, make it all about herself again, and the conflict is resolved and forgiveness blooms over time and the arc is over. Fuck that shit. Finally I thought someone would snap Pearl out of her writers’ curse and open her up to development but- no. And that was the moment I was done with her.
Problem 2: Amethyst getting the shaft. Amethyst has good development here and there but she is never utilized or spotlighted the way, say, Pearl is. She is never given plot-effective character development. It always stands on it’s own. And this arc? God I realized she probably never would. They set up the potential for her to have a real voice in this arc but she ultimately doesn’t because her feelings and actions do not truly affect the outcome of the main conflict. Her sadness over it all is inconsequential. Her plot with Vidalia never even comes up again. She turns Pearl over to Garnet at the hub when she and Steven tell Garnet what happened, (or Steven rather, yeah she didn’t even get to do that). I’m glad she didn’t stoop to season 1 Pearl’s level of pettiness by directly putting Pearl in a place of blame, but what Pearl did was- awful on so many levels and Amethyst just sort of gets strung along through the plot. As she always does. Even her arc involving Jasper has yet to even come up again! Amethyst will always get the shaft and this arc made that clear and I knew I would no longer be hopeful for her anymore.
Problem 3: This entire arc is filler. People complain about the Townie episodes but I don’t know why more people didn’t complain about this. This was a complete filler plot to delay our introduction to Peridot as a new CG candidate, with the crew even admitting they had several episode orders to fill and so delayed various developments. Did we really need to see example #53 of Pearl not caring about other people’s feelings or safety if it means making herself feel valid for a minute? No. Did we need this inconsequential, abruptly resolved internal conflict between the CG’s that meant nothing later? No. The only real thing we got out of this was foreshadowing to Garnet’s feelings of betrayal over Rose being Pink Diamond all along and even then... did we really need it? Couldn’t she just feel betrayed by Rose without this arc underscoring it?
Problem 4: Sardonyx is rude. SU has this tendency to make characters so rude and hurtful and toxic and abusive all the time, excusing them and forgiving them for it right afterwards and I’m just sick of it. Sardonyx isn’t even toxic per se! She’s just rude in such an unnecessary way and she hurts Amethyst over it constantly and I just felt so exhausted by it because I thought why oh why does this brand new character have to challenge me right out of the gate? Why is yet another character in SU a rude hurtful person the second she premieres? Why did I get excited for this reveal only to be sad about it because she makes Amethyst feel like shit and does so yet again when she meets Smoky? Another moment that bothers me because it just reminds me that Garnet and Pearl resolved their struggle in a snap, yet again, even a season later.
Problem 5: Going back to problematic pearl, the rapey undertones of this episode are undeniably there. Sorry, but you can’t constantly make fusion a sex metaphor and then back out and claim they aren’t related concepts whenever it’s convenient for you, crewniverse. Even in this very episode! You cannot have Garnet and Pearl dance so sensually and then fuse based on Pearl’s manipulation, and act like I’m the gross pervert for finding it rapey and upsetting. And then Garnet just has to forgive her for it cuz she cries and calls herself nothing??? This kinda shit happens so much in the series that I absolutely could not take it anymore. “It’s over, isn’t it?” I said to my television screen during the credits, before Mr. Greg even aired lol. My excitement for su was over.
That’s where it all went beyond repair for me. That’s when it was all clear that this series was never gonna get any better about these issues than it currently was. That’s when I realized I needed to stop putting my faith in it and just watch without investing too much in it emotionally anymore. Cuz I realized I was just going to be disappointed every single time. At that point so late in the series run, they should’ve been getting better, yet they indulged in their ugliness instead. It’s over, isn’t it, SU? Isn’t it? Isn’t it over?
[[ @champofpallet is trying to work out and Katherine is just chilling on his back! ]]
“Hey, that’s pretty impressive! You’re quite strong, Red. Do you spend a lot of time working out? Or did all this come from handling Pokemon?”
