I think tnp should have been about Tawnypelt and the aftermath of Tigerstar and the implications of his legacy. Like yeah the Great Journey is there but I want it to be about Tawnypelt grappling with the fact that her brother who is identical to her dead terrible father has clearly replaced her with a new little sister, Squirrelflight, who he's clearly overly controlling of because he's worried about losing her, and Tawnypelt knowing that it's because she left.
I think the Hawkfrost fight should have been between Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt, not Squirrelflight, because I think Tigerclaw's hellghost should have been pursuing Tawnypelt, the one who followed him. The one who lived under his rule. The one who knew him best. Tawnypelt would have seen during one of Tigerclaw's wheedling invitations that Hawkfrost was training in the DF and warned Brambleclaw, and I think she and Brambleclaw should have had one colossal blowout fight where he finally gets to emotionally process his grief over everything that went down between them, the feelings of abandonment, the feelings of isolation as he's left to carry the burden of being theee Tigerclone in ThunderClan, the Clan that arguably hated Tigerclaw the most, and she gets to talk about her time in ShadowClan under Tigerclaw, how traumatic it all was, how she doesn't belong anywhere. We get insight into what that was like for her, what she internalized, what she's struggling to let go of and grow from.
I think Tawnypelt and Brambleclaw should have tried to save Hawkfrost from Tigerclaw together, but Hawkfrost can't let go of wanting to be Tigerclaw's heir, his favorite. Brambleclaw gets to look exactly like him, and Tawnypelt was his heir and knew him better than any of his other kits; Hawkfrost loathes them, especially Tawnypelt, and refuses to be saved.
I think the arc should have wound down with Brambleclaw gently urging Tawnypelt to visit Goldenflower. I think Tawnypelt should make a point to do that. I think the arc should have ended with Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Mothwing, and Goldenflower all beginning to heal, separately but together.
Plus I think the second arc being set Not In ThunderClan would have set the precedent for the series to be RADICALLY better and more interesting lmao
