We were playing Mafia (x) after work and I (finally) got to be the doctor - and actually managed to save 2 people from being killed by the Mafia. 

One of them was the detective, who I had figured out was the detective, so I was ish trying to protect his life, but could only do so every 2 rounds. So, in the round where I couldn’t save him again, I thought, welp, that’s it, he’s gonna die and there’s nothing I can do about it, because the Mafia really looked like they wanted to kill him. I could have saved myself that round, but it was clear who the Mafia would kill (= not me), so I should save some random person in order to be able to save myself in the next round. Sadly the detective had been pointing out that he trusted me, and I kinda became a target for the Mafia as well, so I thought, they would kill the doctor after killing the detective.

Turns out. Not the detective gets killed in that round. But me. 

I was shooketh, but the detective was safe for a couple more rounds, because the Mafia had stopped wanting to kill him for some reason. The good guys won in the end, so all was well, but

PLOT TWIST:

The Mafia had actually tried to kill the detective in that one round, but kinda mispointed, and the game master thought they meant to kill me, so I died.
