I've noticed quite a lot of grammatical errors in this book thus far, only 20% of the way through, including some that substantially change the meaning of their passages and have to be corrected by the reader through inferring from context clues what is meant, despite the contradiction with the actual words on the page. It doesn't cripple the work, but it's especially noticeable given that White Wolf is a major studio and so doesn't have a scale excuse for inadequate proofreading. (And if you're unable to proofread your work, what bigger flaws might you have overlooked? How can you guarantee broader quality when a narrow quality is deficient?)

A few weeks back I watched, or skimmed I guess, a video on the Ox Problem in relation to fantasy worldbuilding. Broadly the trouble is: you need to move food; food is moved by animals; animals eat food. So if you go too long, you arrive with no food. This incentivises feudalism. I was rambling the video to myself earlier, and while writing a picaresque I just realised: ah, that's why boats are important. They are fast, but they are also, crucially, not alive. A boat does not eat food. The people on it eat food, but not nearly so much as oxen would; square-cube law. If you can be carried by currents or wind, you don't even need rowers, further reducing food demands.
