THE CASTILES performing on June 22 at the ‘Off Broad Street’ - a frequent band ‘hangout” during the late spring-summer of 1968. (Left to Right): Springsteen, George Theiss (sporting a new, bearded look) and bassist Curt Fluhr. The other band members were present but just so happen not to be in the panorama. Photo "Copyright 2008 Eric Rudolph". Special thanks to George Theiss for timeline/details assistance.
The Castiles (organist Bob Alfano is not seen because he took the photo) inside the Café Wha? on the same day in 1967 as the two outside photos shown in the previous listing. Left to Right are: Fluhr, Popkin, Springsteen (face obscured by the microphone), Theiss and Manniello. Photo courtesy Billy Smith.
Left photo (left to right): Marziotti, Springsteen, Theiss, Popkin and Manniello. (January or February 1966)

The earliest promotional gig item that has yet surfaced for the Castiles - October 8th, 1965.
Paul Popkin's Epiphone guitar, also used by Bruce and worn by George Theiss in the uppermost photograph. The guitar has been displayed at the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame museum in Cleveland, and was sold at auction in 2001 for a realized price of $9,250.
