ooh okay! this wip is from over a year ago actually, so i don't remember what it's about beyond what's written on the doc.

i'm now deciding that it's a cass x mari bc why not! basically, marinette did competitive figure skating and stopped for a few years after an accident happened during one of her competitions.

she returns as a singles skater, which makes people talk because she used to do pairs and seemed to be really good friends with her skating partner. there are more reasons behind her leaving than are privy to the public, and it's her return is an unexpected shock.

Marinette has a soulmate, she knows she does. Her soulmate is the person who can reach into her nightmares and take her away from them.

Sometimes her nightmares start slowly. She drifts off to sleep and awakens into a beautiful Paris, one without danger. Marinette can wander around her city and be free for once, even though she is always alone. But then the scene changes.

Out of everyone in DuPont there was one girl who was most sought after more than anyone: Marinette Dupain-Chang

If he was being honest, Adrien would say he didn’t like it

He was very afraid some random guy would break Marinette’s heart and she didn’t deserve that

So he was able to keep them away

He was even starting to be called “The Matchmaker”

Because anytime a boy said they had a crush on Marinette, Adrien would set them up with a girl who wasn’t Mari.

And it normally worked out!

In the mean time, Adrien was still going after ladybug, until she told him she was dating someone

He was disappointed of course, but he decided he’d switch targets like Kagami said to do

Of course...he couldn’t go to Kagami because when Luka liked Marinette, Adrien set Kagami and Luka up together

That made him think about Marinette

She was sweet and clever just like everything he liked in Ladybug

And given that he had gotten all the boys away from her, he’d have a good shot

But the day he decided to confess Marinette was with someone

A small but muscular black haired girl

He wouldn’t have thought much of it except for the fact that Marinette walked over to him with her

“Adrien this is my girlfriend Cassandra.”

And he realized how stupid he really was

He kept the boys away

But he never thought about the girls...
