i don't even have more 2 say to this bc this is such a perfect response but

it's kind of like i took this class about writing from the perspective of marginalized voices and the professor was telling us how often writers who come from communities that are oppressed in the real world write characters from their communities who lack flaws / humanity / striving because they feel the need to put up a front to show how strong and tough and resilient and great they are whereas people from the dominant can write characters who have their uglinesses more exposed
