thinking about how both Castorice and Firefly both wish for the normal life that they have been robbed of due to circumstances out of their control
methinks Trailblazer has a type. also after Amphoreous wraps up I can totally see Firefly taking Castorice out to Penacony to have a totally normal outing that definitely isn't a date

man my Lingsha and Fuyuan looks a little different today
anyway happy april fools! yes this counts as my april fools post
Team was E0 Dahlia on Cipher's S1, E0 Castorice on Evernight's S1 (I still don't have Cas's sig), E0 Firefly on Mydei's S1 (yes really), and Fugue on Herta's shop S1.
also JFC this was SO FUCKING HARD. so much RNG... I must have taken like 2 or 3 hours total to get this run. Long story short this was made possible by Castorice getting 2 dragons just from Firefly's selfhealing, with some EXTREMELY cursed relic choices. Firefly was on an HP orb to boost selfhealing, while Castorice had 2pc Longevous and fucking 2pc PASSERBY for 10% outgoing healing, and an outgoing healing body too.
oh and no global passive trigger. yes really. no I don't know how I did that either all the other close runs needed it.
I was originally gonna try to do Anomaly Arbitration Knight 3 (free Lygus dragons) but AA was way too hard for this derpy team. I did do Knight 2 with Hyacine replacing Fugue in this team though! though Hyacine does kinda trivialize that knight so it's not as much as an accomplishment imho.
Also, it turns out I COULD NOT immediately detonate the second dragon, because on runs I did that Firefly left the second TV phase at ONE FUCKING PERCENT before Sparxie nuked the team. That means the 20% res pen from leaving Netherwing onfield for 3 turns was a necessary part of the run lol. However, doing the same with the first dragon meant that you couldn't get the second dragon in time to help with Sparxie's second phase, which meant Firefly failed the DPS check. I couldn't hold the first dragon to the second phase either because Fugue or Dahlia would have died to first phase.
There were some really close calls even on the winning run too:
I figured out that with this setup, you could get the first dragon in time for Sparxie ONLY by letting the MOC buff kill the last chicken and cutting between the phase changes with Firefly ult, which gave barely enough Newbud to squeeze a dragon in to hit the outside TVs before Firefly had her first turn. Except for the winning run, where this somehow DIDN'T happen and the dragon was only acquired by Sparxie's first action, just before sending Firefly into the TV.
The middle schoolgirl in Sparxie's first phase died to the Fire dot from Firefly. Somehow. Without that...actually now that I think about it I still would have passed first phase and might have actually helped with newbud gen. Huh.
While Firefly did sucessfully kill the first TV phase, she couldn't kill Sparxie's first phase before Sparxie got up and and restarted it at 4%. I ended up throwing Castorice into the TV both to allow Firefly to brute force that last 4% AND to build more Newbud.
anyway tldr just use Ruan Mei instead of trying to sustain with Castorice it tears out less of your hair.
shut up it's not late to valentines day it's still the 14th in some time zones i got the fic idea out before then. sue hoyo for making planarcadia so good. anyway:
Castorice and Firefly have been competing for Stelle’s affections for years, but when the Annihilation gang comes knocking, the two rivals must begrudgingly work together to save the object of their shared affections. However, the two slowly find out that they have much more in common than they had ever imagined.
It’s a stereotypical college AU setup. Stelle is Extremely Herself, and everyone but her knows that she’s accidentally managed to win the affections of both Castorice, the kind but distant lit major who always wears gloves and Firefly, the fierce volleyball star and Stelle’s childhood friend. The two always (politely) snipe at each other while Stelle remains oblivious, Katarina Claes style.
One day, Castorice and Firefly nearly get into a fistfight in a supply closet as they were stalking following Stelle’s daily routine when suddenly, Stelle gets mugged by a new gang that popped up in town, unimaginatively named the Annihilation Gang. Castorice and Firefly leap in and rescue her, but not before Stelle gets seriously injured. As they helplessly watch the gang’s lieutenant get away over Stelle’s unconscious body, Castorice and Firefly begrudgingly swear to help each other absolutely ruin Duke Inferno’s day.
Castorice and Firefly head over to a suburb named Glamoth following a lead, where they stay at Firefly’s old home. During the actual recon mission, Castorice nearly botches the stealth check because her ‘curse’ flared up and disabled the use of her hands in a crucial moment. Safely back at the house, Firefly is understandably pissed at her partner in crime for nearly getting them both caught. That is, right up until she tears off Castorice’s ever present gloves to reveal horrifyingly familiar glowing veins. As Firefly stands there in shock, Cas hesitantly begins explaining what Entropy Loss Syndrome is, how that looming deadline made her afraid to ever reach out to people because befriending her meant assured heartbreak later and Firefly where are you going? Why are you powering machinery on and kicking down a locked door in the basement and Oh. That’s a SAM unit, the unique medical machine capable of temporarily treating ELS.
After Castorice gets in the mech pod, Firefly asks why she never told Stelle the details of her condition, because Stelle already knows what Firefly went through with her own ELS. After Cas explains that she was just afraid of Stelle pulling away, Firefly retorts that by removing the chance of heartbreak, she also removes any hope of Stelle giving her happiness or a cure. After Cas’s scoff at the chance of a cure, Firefly reveals Stelle does in fact have a cure; or rather her godmother Herta created one after Stelle convinced her to help cure Firefly many years ago. An expensive cure, sure… but Firefly is willing to pay the bill for Castorice. And Polyxia, when Cas tells Firefly about her sister. Sure, it’ll hurt, but not more than it would hurt Castorice. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Castorice’s sudden flustered complaints about Firefly sounding like Stelle lead her (who is not as dense as Stelle) to realize that she’s accidentally seduced her rival, and leaves to let Castorice (and herself) process that.
After some shenanigans (and probably a cameo from Constance), Duke Inferno goes out like he did in canon (completely offscreen), and the two girls end up at Castorice’s house. Inside is not just Polyxia, but Castorice’s main doctor… Ruan Mei, aka Herta’s ex/rival/It’s Complicated. After putting two and two together, it’s revealed that the vaccine that cures Entropy Loss Syndrome (as well as dozens of other projects between the two ‘geniuses’) could have been invented a LOT sooner if they hadn’t been constantly sabotaging each other over the years. Castorice has A Crash Out about this, and suddenly the fiery passion in her eyes as she tears Ruan Mei a new one for letting petty rivalries get in the way of other’s happiness is very familiar to Firefly. Castorice ends her rant by saying something along the lines of “If you’re so incompetent at social interaction that you can’t be the bigger woman and leave, or make amends like a normal person, you can always just seduce her. That’s always effective.” And Firefly is suddenly happy to prove Castorice right.
After Castorice lets Firefly have some space (in a mirror to the previous ‘Oh’ moment), Firefly invites herself into Castorice’s room to accept her suit…only to find Castorice adjusting her shrine to Stelle (they’re both a little yandere) to have a picture of Firefly in it. Firefly has Some Emotions about it, and after a long conversation they agree to a new deal.
Everyone at school is Very Confused at CasFly arriving together and acting like Historical Girl Best Friends…except Stelle, who is obliviously happy they’re getting along. Up until Castorice and Firefly wingman each other so hard that they break through Stelle’s density field. As the realization flashes across Stelle’s face, they let her have some space… and to make out in a supply closet because the (not best at all wtf) cure to jealousy is to make out with the person you’re jealous of. Obviously. look yandere’s gonna yandere even if they’re poly
*I had debated for a while on which one of them starts the story with cured ELS. In the old version of the story, Castorice was the one that had already cured ELS, with her twin Polyxia also having her lifespan restored but retaining ELS scars (manifested as her canon eyepatch and wheelchair). Instead of Firefly showing off SAM, it’s Polyxia pulling down her eyepatch. This would also include the vaccine causing those veins to glow golden, and also involve ALL of the Chrysos Heirs having and getting cured of ELS before the fic starts. In the end, I chose Castorice to get the short end of the stick, mostly to better fit the canon narrative of Stelle helping to ‘cure’ Castorice by getting her the Coreflame of Death.
ok call me insane but. I think Firefly is gonna show up in Amphoreus for 3.7.
The whole reason Firefly loves Penacony is that she can walk around like a Normal Girl while keeping her real body safely under medical care. You know where else you can go and walk around while keeping your body comatose and safe? Amphoreus.
In the most recent Amphoreus trailer, Firefly is NOT shown talking about the Express's possible paths and is instead shown in a medical pod (voiced too, implying Analesa is back in the booth). Silver Wolf then says "The rest is up to her now," then follows it up with "Do I need to lend a hand with Amphoreus?" If this 'her' refers to Firefly, this implies Firefly is CURRENTLY on a mission while comatose, with Wolfie offering to (presumably) lend Firefly specifically a hand. Considering Silver Wolf's specialty is coding, which would be VERY useful in a simulated universe, this does make sense.
though on the flip side Kafka says that there's no need and that "we're the audience for this act," which kinda negates that theory. Considering Stelle is shown for this trailer, 'her' could also refer to the Trailblazer, which would also make sense.
and yes I am thinking about using this theory to get castorice and firefly on a date together sue me and my 33 million rarepairs
