I'm sure if we arrested, accused and convicted people based on public opinion or the infallible word of talk show hosts most of the country would be in line for the death penalty.

That said... Casey Anthony is not the #1 mom and even she knew it. She proved to be a shallow, egotistical and frankly stupid human being by her actions while on the media spotlight. I'm sure that losing her only daughter, even for a woman that stupid and self-centered, is traumatic to the point of delirium. 

It took the jurors about 11 hours to reach a verdict and they found her innocent. Those people had access to all the materials and evidence needed to reach that decision. The rest of the country didn't, we had Nancy Grace and the stupid decisions of Casey Anthony.

Remember, for every Casey Anthony there are thousands of other cases in which a murderer goes free and an innocent person goes to jail. But a few TV personalities chose this case because of it's rating potential, making the justice process more difficult and the truth murkier. This story proved that if given the opportunity we would grab the pitchforks and torches to join the witch burning inquisition. But only if a bossy lady on the TV says so.

I slightly recall hearing about her when it happened and following the story for awhile. After some time I simply forgot about it and moved on. Assuming justice would be brought swiftly.

I was wrong. She has been found not guilty of all charges except for providing false evidence to police. When I saw this I was baffled and began reading small stuff that I could find. I wasn't happy about the outcome but I can understand why.

Then I started seeing things online. People freaking out about the outcome.

Listen. If you can't take the time to actually look into something than you have absolutely no right to talk about it. Also, clearly no one knows how the system works or you wouldn't be freaking out. If there is substantial evidence saying that someone did the crime than you can not rightly accuse them.

Some criminals are going to be found not guilty. This must happen so that others will be prosecuted and so the system continues to work.
