Everything was going to be fine. Sure, it was dangerous, but as long as they all stuck together, everything would go nicely. They wouldn't get all busted up like the trolley workers, but they'd still win. The police wouldn't care about a bunch of kids. But what if they did? What if Snyder showed up? What if they were in over their heads? What if? What if the other boroughs didn't come to help? What if everything went wrong?
All of these thoughts ran through Crutchie's mind as she sat up in the penthouse, too anxious to sleep. She shouldn't be this worried, yet somehow she just had a bad feeling about it all. God, this job got harder and harder as she was forced to do it alongside Clyde. All she needed was the money to get to Hollywood, and to drag her other along side her. She wasn’t very intent on hurting anyone, but she had to keep a poker face here. While Clyde was in the back clearing out the safe, Bonnie was tasked to hold down the people here.Â

“We’re hoping it’s still a little early.” So far, Mikey didn’t have the best manners with other children, mostly because for one, he was an infant, and for two, he was Donny’s son. Donny had hoped he would be a social butterfly like his mother. It just made things easier.
“He refuses to let go of his mother. Can’t blame him.”
They ran on lies most of the time. Tonight was a clever one about Katherine going out of town on a report. They had three days together here in this apartment Jack had rented in the hopes of being theirs. They had yet to talk about the elephant in the room, the night had passed with no funny business, Jack had even cooked dinner and now here they were just laying together. Jack his hand found the curve of her stomach, without a word he rested it there. This was a first, he'd yet to touch it.
The feeling of Jack touching it was strange, but not in a bad way. Just in a new way. He never done that before now and they hadn’t even talked about things yet, at least not the way they needed to. For the most part, it seemed like they carried on the way they usually did, except a little bit different in an apartment they didn’t have before. She looked at him wordlessly but making eye contact as she did.Â
