THIS makes me happy today. The lighting in the new basement isn’t exactly all that illuminating. And the drop ceiling means I don’t readily have beams to simply nail and hang these track lights. So I got the idea to throw together a Mobile lightstand which would not just let us roll the light around the basement as needed, but could also offer a little extra waist-high self for resting tools on when working on something and you want to keep them close at hand (which around here is almost everything). It’s not ideal—I’m adding the wider base for stability I increased its height, meaning it won’t fit under the overhang beam in the basement. But that can be simply fixed by removing the bottom crossbeam, chop a couple inches off the base, and attach the verticals directly to it. But that’s a fix for my next day off. What I wanted tonight was at least “proof of concept” so I’d know if I just needed to tweak it or if I needed to scrap the whole idea. Honestly this holds up nicely (and putting it together also gave me a crash course in the uneven areas of the basement floor). #diy #maker #carpentryprojects #doityourself #ronhorsley https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo7sVm4n9J1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=laksf79phh6c
