Homeward Bound ca 50x75 Acrylic on canvas
I painted some fast ones on small wood pieces with different textures. The purpose was trying out the different wood textures, but also to try out some of my visual ideas i have in stock, which i am unsure of. The conclusion is that it can be quite interesting to incorporate the wood texture in bigger paintings, maybe even jigsaw patterns and bild layers of wood with different textures and colors to form an, in the end, fairly realistic picture. Especially the first one, the OSB fiber board, was a suprisingly interesting material to work with. I get a grainy distorted feeling, like the one you can get when the light is so dim that you almost hallucinate. On the other hand, I’m not very stoked about how the visual ideas came out. Ther are either just plain boring ideas, or i need to make them bigger and more detailed to make them work. some say there is something Hopperesque about my work, Hence the last painting by Edward Hopper. related: George Shaw, Kim Dorland, William Eckersley, Ylva Ceder
